After watching the replay again of the collingwood match. One thing became very clear to me. We need another Charlie Curnow.

CC lead up the ground. Took the link up mark, then nothing else after that. Yes McKay could be the stay at home, but adding Lukosius would mean Charlie doesnt have to continually lead 100+ metres to be our link man as much.

Whats better than 1 Charlie Curnow. 2!

Getting Cripps the help he needs IMO.

Pretty sure we have it. Kennedy and Dow. Cripps wont change his game no matter what. We will recruit and trade for mids, but if we finish last, expect to hear the best players named called out

Yeah I doubt any club is going to offer that to get Lukosius. As much as he's being touted as the next Nick Reiwoldt, there's still the chance he won't live up to it.

History of number 1 picks say he doesn't live up to the hype.
Every year we get swept up into thinking pick 1 is supposed to be a superstar, when really it's just a good indicator as to who has the drive and talent to be a good 200+ game player. The truth is, especially with KPPs, 18 years old is too early to know who is going to take that step from really good to great.

TBH, Id rather the best player for us at draft time, not who is apparently rated the best player.

Are you basing this on personal experience with Cam McCarthy??

Well he’s one example isn’t he.
The AFL in the modern format would require a fair bit of mental fortitude.
Harley Balic is one I thought would go on to play AFL for demons and felt he’d be a very good player and was disappointed he left Freo for what I considered unders but he hasn’t fired a shot at Demons this year and I wouldn’t be surprised if his AFL career didn’t last much longer.

Carlton haven’t exactly set the world on fire either by giving all these recruits a lifeline or playing opportunities.

Fool me once...

Yet I hear SOS looking at a couple of GC recruits who aren’t getting game time. When do you think the penny will drop for SOS?

If lukosis is as good as what people are saying then I’m all for him but the go home factor has to be an issue cause in two years time crows/port will come hard hence why Walsh would be better for us all round.

A case of those in glass houses right there for Freo fans.
At least the guys that SOS has picked up have not sprayed local football coaches or been in nightclub brawls, etc, etc
And cost us next to nothing.
Bennell on the other hand has been a complete balls up.

I have been thinking since THAT kick in the pies game, could we use Jones as an attacking, outside mid?
He is woeful one on one as a defender but he is quick, is a good mark, can spoil and has a thumping kick.
In the midfield his errant kicking, no, his brain fades wouldn't be as deadly as they are when he kicks from deep in defence. If he is kicking from the wing, they would be kicks inside 50m, so at least if they are sprayed, it gives us a chance to defend it or crumb it.
Could be worth a try if Rowe takes his place at FB.

Maybe Will Brodie could be another addition to help Cripps, Kennedy, Dow etc.
High draft pick. Needed fitness and has been injured. Contracted another 2 years but anything is possible. Pick 9 in the 2016 draft

I certainly wouldn't discount doing something like bringing him in. I would like us to make a big play for Angus Brayshaw who is OOC. Dahlhaus who is an RFA etc. Im not opposed to looking at Mitch McGovern as our third tall forward either.

Brayshaw is a yes for me. But suspect he would cost a packet.

Im not interested in Dahl. We would need to offer him decent coin and a 3+ year contract. I suspect he would be passed within 2 years by our kids.

Mitch McGovern would be a good get. Id change my thoughts on Lukosius if we were bringing MM in. Id take a mid. But again, he is contracted. Adelaide would want the world for him. He is a 3rd banana. And is too in and out of games for my liking.

Brayshaw yes out of that lot. But i wouldn't want to pay higher than a late 1st or early 2nd. Not sure Melbourne would take that

Or we can just put him back in the VFL where he really belongs.

Certainly Bradshaw would be a good get.

If gaff lands at melb, then either he or Tyson will shake loose.

Kind of always been my thinking ever since the talk of him the last couple of weeks, taking McGovern in a trade and taking a mid with our first pick.

Id be thinking that Brayshaw would be worth paying a bit for, I really rate him. Dahlhaus would be kind of a plan B or C move, though I agree he'd be overtaken by our kids in about two years as you said
