Sure we did.
Henderson (and Yarran and Menzel, both 1st round draft picks who were best 22 in 2015) Bell, Tuohy and Gibbs.

Sure Bell left for family reasons, but I don't think we were too upset as it helped us get Charlie. Gibbs is the only one who wasn't planned for, but we did trade him, and going off last year, it has cost us several wins.

The point being made was "we traded them so we could deliberately bottom out and get draft picks".

Neither of these guys played AFL again - so how did this contribute to us deliberately bottoming out?

SOS was smart enough to realise these guys were gone and get value for them while he could.

So what is your point?

Regards to players leaving to wanting more dollars and Carlton letting them go , It could also be looked at in a different way
You dont pay existing players that are proven and want money to stay and let them leave yet are prepared to bring in others like Palmer , Lobbe as salary cap dumps.

Fact remains that the chance that the blues would have received a PP would be extremely low , When you say that you dont care what Richmond did thats where you are wrong again as you have brought in 'The Man' From Richmond to effectively do what Richmond did.

Anyway the last thing im here to do is argue with you but im thinking the people running your club would be in a better position to make this choice than you and they have made it.

That moron David King has written in today's HUN that we should be looking at trading our pick 1 for their pick 8 and Brad Crouch. If Crouch want so injury prone I wouldn't mind it but his body has let him down. What about our pick 1 and 26 for Crouch pick 8 and pick 13 ?

Yes but Lukosious and Charlie play almost exactly the same role, and Mckay, Kerr, & Casboult play a similar role, then throw in DeKonig, BSOS. We simply can not carry that many tall forwards on our list.. If and I am still not sold that Lukosious is that good, but if he is close to what is being spruiked then i think a forward like of Charlie, Lukosios and then supplemented by Kerr, Dekonig and who ever else we draft over the next few years will be extremly potent.

Its just a matter of fact that right now we do not have a need for another tall forward, however if Lukosios can not be passed on IMO we should try and cash in on Harry and use him as a means to get the midfielders we desperately need..

For hypothetical sakes, lets say McKay for Norths 2019 1st round pick + some change was able to land us Dylan Shiel.. Who would complain?

Seriously makes no sense to me to trade for Shiel to GWS one year before he's a free agent. Put ourselves in GWS's position. We would be over the moon...

I’m with you on Jones but play him for the rest of the year and see if we can trade him. I would drop Macreadie or Plowman for some run out of the back line like Garlett or O’Brien

I get you but problem with those 2 is they can't defend!
We still need 2 small defenders and 2 small forwards. Maybe this year in the drafting? Dunno if there are any good ones out of contract ATM?
IdI still keep Jones as a firsts backup as he at least gives it his all. Happy to keep half a dozen players that aren't the best talents but have the best attitude/competitiveness

Pretty sure he played in the 2s last weekend coming back from a hamstring injury. Hopefully gets a good run at it this year, every match I saw him play in the 1s I thought he was really good.
