Vickery was a spud, who teased with performances against bottom teams. So would fit right in at Port as that's their specialty.

Watts is not as bad as Vickery. But he's not Buddy Franklin either....

I'm not sure that Port is a good fit for Watts, not that he had too many other options I understand. If he doesn't deliver early they will turn on him and it won't be pretty.
I was thinking more, Vickery reversed the finals fortunes of Richmond & Hawks... so it would be funny if Watts had the same impact... though would like a decent 1st round pick from the Dees.

I wonder if other teams will start paying him not to play for them.

Utterly laughable.

Can't even be bothered reading that tripe, if i want to read nonsense i'll go for something written properly, like this

’Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

“Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!”

He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought—
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.

And as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.

“And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!”
He chortled in his joy.

’Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

Spud up at the end of your squillion dollar contract, beg Sydney not to trade you, get through January with you in the club's plans, then retire just as the hard stuff starts, leaving your club a key man down.

Yep. Sounds about right, doesn't it Kurt.

Maybe he was recruited with that intention, and like Trigg at Carlton, once the club had a chance to look at what they got they were less impressed than their reputations suggested

Noble and Trigg perhaps just weren’t as good as advertised
I'm close to a few members of the Lions board. Their perception of Noble is 100% positive.

**** you Kurt. You'll forever be remembered as a mediocre overpaid hack that left Adelaide to become a quarter of the player you were.

Screwed over both us and Sydney in the end. What a piece of shit.

Yet another player who left for the $$$$$ ....that has ultimately gone backwards in his career .....joins Bock, Davis (IMO hasn't progressed) ....hope the money is good comfort Kurt

Seems like an odd time to leave a club unless there was an injury. Otherwise, think he was contracted this year and probably didn't get offered an extension.

deaneus - time to unlock the Kurt thread?

Done!

Let's have one more go at denigrating his very essence

At least he left a positive legacy at the Crows by (eventually)bringing down Trigg.

Huge Karma on this one... though gather Sydney now save on their salary cap. He apparently had a contract til 2020 season.

Was probably a front loaded Contract

Don't believe so, as wasn't that long ago he negotiated an 2 year extension... though on about half the money he used to get.

I was just having a go, as to why he retired .......if his contract was substantially less, there goes the incentive to perservere

He has retired because his body is cooked & it's not like he really needs the money after being overpaid for so long...

He'll just go into Dads Family Business
