The key difference is over here it is done in a Bay13 troll like manner.

Down there old mate REH and others do a thorough analysis of our Financials and does his best to put a negative spin on it.

A blind monkey can see between the two clubs which one is ran best in terms of Financial viability. And that is without pokie revenue, the lowest AFL funding in the league and without assistance from Turbo Tom and the SA taxpayers.

Do you find it a little bit embarassing that your AFL club mounted a Facebook campaign to get a community grant to fund a playground to.be built at Alberton. Such a pittance amount of funding for an AFL club, about $20k. But a real gamechanger for many other small community organisations with far less revenue and exposure than an AFL club. And yet you guys had your hand out for it.

I'd find it more embarrassing if my club and supporters pretended a $1.3mil loss was actually a $1.4mil profit

What is the purpose of a profit for an organisation that has no shareholders? I personally think more importance should be.placed on increasing revenue, decreasing debt, increasing Football Department spend.

Anyway, nice dodge of the community fund hand out . Did you guys end up getting it? If you did that hand out made up two thirds if your Statutory Profit.

Port gained more revenue than Geelong, that was nice to see

Yeah you did well in that regard. I guess most of that increase was around the China game? How much did the AFL chip in for you guys to host that? Good to see it paying off.

What was the change in debt?

I enjoyed your "two star" comment. I genuinely laughed.


And yes without the SANFL having as big a hand in our pockets both clubs have done well.

Well I'm glad that Port's $5mil increase in revenue, which funded an increase in football and community spending while staying in the black has the approval of an amateur accountant like yourself

Not much media about that. It's probably just a fait accompli, Port being the destination club and everything, but why is he spared the incessant scrutiny that Sloane has to endure? Being the world's best midfielder, I'd have thought there'd be at least the same amount of agitation surrounding him as there is Sloane.

I'd say your suspicions are valid. Their supposed profit last year was $14,840, and they're making a big deal about it being their "3rd consecutive profit" (after 8 straight years at a loss).

100% increase in profits this year then, outstanding work.

You've always been such a wealth of knowledge of the inner workings of not only our two great clubs, but the AFL in general.I mean sure, (much) more often than not you're wrong, but I always have time for someone with the knowledge, financial background, and inside sources that you have, so I too can be completely up to speed with all things AFL.

no doubt - i see we have folded/moved to tasmania/out of the league as everyone was saying in 2012 would happen within 5 years.

So im sure like those predictions the tarps returning will definitely come true.

I just meant that since money has to be spent in China, investing it rather than squandering it would be a good idea.
