Thought you were better than a daft moron screaming 'SJW!!1!', but to address your question, there's nothing to suggest that the progressively minded think victim blaming is somehow acceptable when a woman is doing it (seriously, this is a daft assertion and nobody actually thinks this) - and it's even more disappointing that Caro pushed the victim blaming narrative, but it's hard to imagine a great backlash given the form of media as opposed to a prime time TV show.
I agree with pretty much all of this post.

Bicks article on Adelaide Now about the new GF agreement, the headline says something about interstate sides getting greater access to the G, can you post it please.
Haven't read the article but read elsewhere we will actually have the chance to train on the G prior to our 2 or 3 games a year there...

We don't get to train at Etihad either? Anyone know why (I think) travelling teams get access to AO?

Port seem to have a systemic issue of disappearences.

- Disappearing sponsorship
- Disappearing CCTV footage
- Disappearing players in finals
- Disappearing witnesses to racial abuse by West Coast supporters.
- Disappearing witnesses to racial abuse on the night of the banana thrower.
- Disappearing Port supporters reappearing as Geelong supporters
- Disappearing 'profits'
- Disappearing braincells

If they aren't careful the whole place will vanish into the ether.

Is that it, more training but no more games?

**** you VFL.

So the AFL increases the Grand Final contract for the MCG. The contract is now valid for 39 years into the future.

AFL then tells non-Victorian teams: "well you will get to train on the MCG a bit more and we'll charter a flight for the grand final"

I mean seriously. If that's the best they can do, they should **** right off to campaigner town, the campaignery **** faced ****s

It’s been like that for years. Nothing’s changed.

Who is on the AFL Commission? Surely this would have to be approved by them?

Let’s hunt them down.

It’s going to continue until people get proactive and force their clubs to put pressure on the AFL.
Be a pest. Constantly write, email and phone your club and the AFL. Constantly do the same to sports shows. Hijack games with banners/signs behind the goals.
Streak onto Victorian grounds carrying a sign/banner.

Sorry, but those ideas will be completely ineffective. The only thing that will force a change is a united move by the non-Victorian teams that attempts to **** the AFL hard

**** you VFL.

Took a look at Rucci's article (Chrome extension...)

Guaranteed 2 games at the MCG

Ability to train on the MCG before ONE of those games (likely a captains run type session the day before the match)

And 2 training sessions before a GF.

That is all.

They probably will be ineffective but how else are you going to show that you won’t tolerate it?
If you don’t tell those that make decisions what you think then you’ve no right to complain.
When the two reserves teams were discussed I wrote to the Sturt GM, Chapman at Adelaide and the SANFL saying I thought it was a bad decision and abhorrent to have the competition playing under different salary caps. Nothing changed but if 5k or more did the same you’d think they’d think twice at least.
Do something or shut up. (Not trying to be rude)

If the AFL can't possibly bare the thought of not playing the grand final at the MCG, the very least they could do is implement two very easy to implement solutions to help even out the non-Victorian team issue.
  1. Home team gets to choose ground dimensions to either conform to their own home ground, or the standard MCG layout.
  2. Home team gets 65% of the members ticket allocation, away team 35%, also with an increase to overall member tickets

I'd also add that the grand final umpires should be selected in a jury-like process where both teams are allowed to veto umpires they perceive to give an unfair advantage.

The AFL will never do that. But it'd be good for the game.

Might need to go back to watching Norwood.
It’s easier.......well it was until all the reserves sides bullshit.
Sturt is my main team, always will be and I am happy to give them my time and money and I’ll pretty well attend every game. It’s an easy relaxed day at the footy with mates.
I’ve never been a member at Adelaide and possibly never will be. I enjoy going to the odd game and I enjoy supporting them good or bad but the AFL is a love hate thing for me and it’s never morphed into a true national comp.
The governance of footy is a disgrace at the moment.

Why go half measures with this outcome? Ground dimensions, umpires blah blah blah?
If you want the hosting rights to go to the deserving team then make that the aim, f*** the half baked $hit.
This is why the 3 game series was the most likely to happen if anything. They changed the contract of finals at the MCG, they can change this one.
