Imagine if Sam Docherty wasn't injured and how your team would look with a $630k defender, then if Nic Nat dominated JLT. :rainbow:

We'd all have five starting rookie midfielders.
Imagine what our teams will look like next year with Docherty locked in at D4 @ 441k

ATM I have more midprice risks in my midfield than in my forward or defense.
I have lots of them. All of them except JOM.

My reasoning is that JOMs history is injuries so not going there.
Libbas history is premo then flag hangover and even his bender won't be going this long.
Congilio is a future captain type, proven premium scoring once Treloar left. No competition except Kelly and Shiel.
Discounted due to price and Whitfield now down back only helps IMO.
Redden. No Priddis. No Mitchell. No worries :drunk:

I feel dirty but it feels good at the same time.
Still have Savage at D4 and Sicily at F5 :moustache:
I don’t trust any Eagles midfielder now that Mitchell and Prussia are gone. Gaff and Shuey will get more tag focus so could see more fluctuations. I don’t trust Yeo to be consistent and without mids dominance we could see a small decline in Kennedy.

Of the midpricers Libba May be the only one I can envisage scoring enough to be retained for the whole season, which is the purpose of a midpricer. Essentially a cheap premo.

The rest have far too many question marks.
As for Savage. No Hawf reject/failure will grace my side. Nothing wipes of that stench.

Locked for round 1.

I've ditched the super expensive Mids (Dusty, Danger & Mitchell) for some Mids who have potential to grow.

Might swap O'Meara for Cogs or Sicily for Hibbert.

Only position I'm cheaping out on is Second Ruck, this season has a lack of decent options in the mid range catergory.

Got enough cash in the bank to upgrade when needed.

I've read this argument and don't understand it. I'm not holding him for 10 rounds, I'm holding him for 23. He'll miss 2 games over 23, anyone else will miss 1 game over 23 games?

In addition to this Power and Suns players are worth gold as they'll be playing when a bulk of teams have their bye. They'll be easy to cover when they have their bye and will be worth gold when others have theirs.

I'm open to the idea that I'm missing something - I just can't see what it is?

Just one caution. With the Port and Suns bye you still need a full team on all lines. It does increase the chance of a donut if you're unlucky that week with injuries or suspension or players being dropped. I much prefer making Port and Suns priorities to bring in after their bye - if they are worth it.

That said I was planning to start Barlow until he was a no show in JLT.

Same with Barlow, can you tell us why he didn't play. Is he out of favour, I heard he kicked 2 goals in a lower grade match.

Just for fun I tallied up their SC totals since making best 22 (20+ games). If you give a zero for a missed game, GAJ currebtly has 12 years at 99.1 av. Pendles has 11 years at 96.1 av. So only about 3% difference, guessing this is a lot less than most would have thought. Moral of story... playing games is important.
Probably need to do it with a 60 for a missed game. Rookie coverage.

First.
think you should have Cameron @ R3, a chance to get a game through the year. I get the loop option of Olango, but to me you just want cash generation early with the loop guarantee at the mid to end of the year.
Do you reckon second now due to the injury to Danger, and i have put Cameron in thanks

I'll be pissed if Dew doesn't play him round 1.

He will be in round 2 after Gold Coast lose the clearances 45 to 2

I'm still having Gray in my side .....i'll take the week hit, as we do with 1 week injuries throughout the season .....but i'm not wasting a trade bringing him in later
It's actually a two week hit when you consider round 10. He's an upgrade target for mine.

 this issue doesn't appear to apply to all those teams putting Ryder in as R1 ......with no coverage likely

At least i have bench players to offset the loss of points from Gray .....a great POD

Ryder misses one so he's an upgrade target for me. I just need Sandi to go beast mode for nine rounds!

He dominated the NEAFL game, he is in my team so i hope he plays, but there are many midfielders to choose from for us (Lyons, Swallow, Brodie, Fiorini, Hall, Rischitelli, Barlow and even Ainsworth/Holman). I believe he should be in the round 1 team, but he's pace is where others may have over him. Only 1-2 (probably 1) of Barlow, Rosa and Rischitelli can play, personally I believe it should be Barlow, but im not the match committee.

Ok, where do i start ?

I understand your thoughts about going VERY deep in your midfield .....but part of this game is cash generation, which this year is likely to be Midfield Rookies (primary source) & Defense (secondary source) ..........you're restricting your midfield $$$$ generation, but also some Rookies will score well, & you've taken that opportunity away & weakened other areas of your team

Bonner "might" make a reasonable D4 ? ......but he's no D3 & not even guaranteed a permanent spot in the side ?? .....it was stated on Sat, that Port have 8 HBF players of good quality to choose from

Wallis is a big ???? .....wasn't picked in the Bulldogs final squad of 26 ?
A couple of good points there
N.Wilson and A. Saad are options I’m thinking of at D4 and downgrade Menegola

If he doesn't play I'll go one extra premium in defense or straight swap to Walters who I like as a player but not for SC so much.

Man forwards are a mess this year.

I'm not sure the best way to go with Danger...
does this make the mid price mids in JOM and Armo relevant now, as both could be good stones to jump to Danger?
When will we hear about Dangers scans and how much time off he will get?
Not certain on that.
I think we need danger in quicker than they will mature.
Every year I seem to lose a premo early to injury. That guy. Whoever he is becomes danger.

I really like the look of Fiorini, looks like extended midfield time, gets the ball (not the best user) but loves a tackle (11 on the weekend). He is an awkward price at 390k but I may look at him as a POD
