List Mgmt. 2019 Draft/Trade/FA Thread - Final Wrap

Damian Barrett: Brisbane Lions have made inquiries into Grant Birchall. Grant would love to stay at Hawthorn but finding a contract for him to stay hasn't been able to be thrashed out. I believe the Gold Coast are looking at what's happening.

Now that the Saints have officially made it known they will be chasing B.King for next year's trade period, there should be even more emphasis on bringing in the best players we can right now. If 2020 turns out the way 2019 did for us then I think we can say goodbye to at least one of King or Lukosius (and possibly both). Now is the time for us to strike otherwise we're just going to continue to lose our high end draft picks once their rookie contracts expire.

So that's another reason to bring in Crouch now instead of waiting until next year when he becomes a free agent.
I agree. BB King has played 14 games for us so far & hasn't played in a win yet. If we don't have more wins in 2020, it would be very tempting for our young guns to accept an offer elsewhere. It won't be just the Saints, who'll be trying to tempt King. If B Crouch can help us win 6 games, instead of 4 without him, that could be enough to convince our players we are making progress. I know there are knocks on Crouch's disposal, but I think we'll move the ball into our forward line significantly better with him in the team.

you could argue that B crouch would get it going to our forwards more often regardless of the disposal efficiency versus without him we have more clearances simply going the other way

he cant be that bad if he wins the Crows B and F

I posted in the crouch thread but he was in the top 30 in the league for score involvements.

Ahead of players like de goey, yeo, Merrett, parker

I actually feel like it will happen.

It’s seems the clubs are already talking about a possible trade scenario, which means Brouch has agreed to our offer.

We have numerous quality picks this year and next (obviously excluding 1 or 2), it’s just which picks we are willing to give up.
Although I agree it's starting to look unlikely, that may be a posturing tactic from Cameron. Essentially pointing out we could get him for free next year so the asking price shouldn't be as high as the Crows have suggested.
sounds like posturing on both sides, the sound bites that clubs throw out when they are chasing gun players are so fake they talk about "quick catch ups",
"chats", reaching out etc and they are busy with lots going in.………….FFS this is the time of year clubs have to make their targets stick and there is no way these deals get done without s**tloads of meetings. negotiations and wooing it drives me mad how blasé they all want to sound and how little discussions have been had

Anyone know exactly what range of percentage, I assume, of a players contract an agent gets ongoing would like to know what the players give up out of their salary to the management companies
You guys are all right. I'm just struggling to believe that such a jet young player is keen to come and I don't want to get my hopes up too much.

If we end this trade period with Ellis, Greenwood, Crouch and a solid wingman with leg speed then go to the draft to get Anderson and Rowell I am quite literally going to jizz all over myself.

I will send a bottle of the finest whiskey to Craig Cameron and put a poster of him on my wall.

James Brayshaw IQ = 4

Make sure you wash your hands before you send the whisky

If we give up what is likely to be pick 1 next year for B Crouch, a gun player who has averaged about 10 games a season we are mad. Especially when he would be free next year. The only way I could swallow that is if we did something like this

15, 20 and next years 1st for
Crouch and Crows next years first

I understand the thinking that is may help retain Luko and Ben but if it doesn’t it’s a bad deal IMO.

I hope we are asking for something else back then Because 15 and potentially 2020 pick 1-3 is huge overs imo
Adelaide won't want to give anything back but a shrewd operator would find a way to get a 2020 second round pick back from the Crows.

This is it for us. I think we need to strike now and stop living on the idea of next year's draft. We have the safety net of pick 11 and priority access to Alex Davies next year so let's take a chance and bring in Crouch. Make it happen, Cameron!

I'm not sure about everyone else, but St Kilda and Adelaide both openly discussing their pursuit of Lukosius and King for next year frustrates the sh*t out of me. As if their pursuit hasn't been constant since the moment we drafted them.

The vitriol directed at us for being a rabble and a blight on the competition in conjunction with two established clubs willing to canibalise us so blatantly — it does my head in. I'll be death riding St Kilda and Adelaide (and Port) purely because of their ridiculous c*ntiness.

Ironically, that infamous camp took place on the Gold Coast. A return to the scene of the crime could be on the cards for young Bradley.

Just for some context - Brad Crouch was never on the camp. He had gastro and stayed away from the group during that time.

Saints have won 1 flag in 146 years, and port had tarps and has kochie so just tell them to stfu! Brad crouch is taking us to the finals and both luko and king will re-sign before the bye

SO I VIBED

Lol this is why I didn't want to get hope up.

You will get used to it. Happen to us all the time, see Brodie Grundy. Players will use your club as a tool to inflate their contract offer with zero intent on leaving.

Good luck, I am a Gold Coast fan and want you guys to be sucessful.
