I thought that was you on the trade radio dialling in...
LOL nah certainly was not me but Matt Bulmer is a good bloke , He is a Richmond supporter that used to be here on bigfooty and post phantom drafts
known as Bishop.

god help us if smith is our backup ruckman! someone get some priests in here to wololo wittsy to keep him healthy!!

would genuinely prefer day to be our second ruck, 2MP doesn't really offer much i reckon, a bit too slow, but day does well in the middle i reckon.
are there any other rucks out there that we could get?

I know some aren't particularly happy that we're chasing Zac Smith but here's an interesting anecdote from the vault:

... that was midway through 2008 when, suddenly, Smith faced his second big call - to sign on as the new club's fourth player (Charlie Dixon was one of the first three) or nominate for the national draft (as Dayne Beams had done). Despite having played for less than one year, and in fewer than 20 games, he received letters from North Melbourne, Hawthorn, Collingwood and Geelong, with Port Adelaide more interested and Richmond so keen that football manager Craig Cameron dropped in to visit.

Bizarre to think our current list manager was chasing Z.Smith's signature for Richmond 11 years ago. Maybe that's a motivating factor behind Cameron's decision to bring him back?

I’m sure there was a few mocking us for bringing in Witts - maybe Smith will have a second coming too

Possibly but you'd have to think at 29 years of age, it's pretty unlikely.

With Goober potentially never returning, I think we should look to draft a young ruckman this year with one of our later picks or potentially an academy ruckman given we are allowed to select them and it doesn't cost us any picks. Townsville's Matt Conroy is a name that has been mentioned in the past but his height (198cm) coupled with his small frame could be considered a little small to make it at the AFL level. Do we have any other potential rucks in our academy who are draft eligible this year?

Good call

Saw Caleb Graham pinch hit a few in those last games as well as Burgess

I do like how they are doing these special editions dedicated to the suns. And this one has Craig Cameron.

Talks about pick 1/2 how it won't be moving on. Talks about the Treloar discussions and talks other picks what they may do with them 15/20/next years. Mention of Crouch and how he says it will be difficult to do this year.

I wouldn’t be adverse to holding onto picks 15 & 20 like Cameron has implied or going up the draft... The WA ruck of Jackson I reckon we persue

Given the dearth of ruckmen in the league at the moment, I'd be shocked if he was still available at pick 15.

If Crouch doesn’t happen we could also trade up in the draft potentially with live trading
It’s so even after Rowell Anderson and Green that we would be silly to try to trade up and waste picks. Should be some talent around that 15-30 mark that we will get.

Even though Jack Martin is out of contract the Sun's set the market for his value, especially if they are already happy with 4 picks in the top 20.

Potentially there is more value to us in sending him to the draft to send a signal to King and Lukosius suitors that we won't be bent over in a trade and will need to pay overs in any deal, as opposed to a future 2nd.

Strong point. Heavy loss immediately at losing Martin for nothing but really does show a bit of strength

Ideally we make our point by having another Melbourne team come over the top with a better offer and Jack Martin jumps ship, and SOS's bluster gives way to a guy known for not getting deals done, we get a decent pick from another team and builds our cred for next year's trade period.

If Daniher and Fantasia both walk out on Essendon I can see them making a late play for Martin.

They will have some good picks to work with

Exactly, this is why clubs are trying to change top 10 picks into multiple picks in the teens. This draft is a crap shoot so the more picks you have the better your chances.

Ffs dealing with Dodo v SOS, poor Cameron

Not a crap shoot just an even draft. More players likely to be around that 6-15 players on a list then elite talent
