We’re a pretty decent shot to heat hawthorn this year I reckon.
Let’s all line him up in the case:

He's a DH for sure but my only area of concern is the lack of A players in the squad. Do we have any (right now) that rightly would be called A or are we mainly made of B and C players? Keen to see see what others think. Clearly we have many future A players - King, Rankine, Lukosius etc but this year we need quite a few of the older kids - Bowes, Fiorini, Ainsworth etc to jump up to A class if we are going to stop the criticism from the Mexicans.

Swallow would be my choice for possible A but injury culled his reputation down south and Harbrow was certainly there earlier - not sure now due to age.

I would consider Witts and A grade ruckman. I could be a little bias but I have him as the 4th best ruckman between Nic Nat, Gawn and Grundy

He'd be A although his directional tap work needs work as we get better mids in there!

He has been tapping it at his feet to keep it contested to ensure we don’t get destroyed. Greenwood adds that grunt to make it better tap work

Young out of contract Schoenfeld still a year to run so he will be cut next year..
Young and wigg always injured

I'm upset that aron's gone, I really liked him. But for the club I suppose it's a necessary move since it's a spot for a player like budarick who I think is already going to be an underdog. I think we've got our core players so we don't need these backups like young and schoenfield who we can just throw in to get through a game. It's actually time for it to become a genuine competition in the neafl for an AFL spot and with more spots open it's going to let all our younger players to really grow and thrive

I just find it funny we cry out for experienced players then when we have a few we get rid of them as soon as we can.

Every decision has to improve the playing list
I thought Young played a role but that role is now covered so cutting him gives the opportunity to improve the list by bringing in better players and potential A graders
If GHS or Murdoch or Schoenfelds contracts were up you'd think they'd go before Young but we have to make room- this year in particular

Would have had to pay Schoenfeld out I guess. At least frees up a senior spot.

Young is too far down the pecking order for a best 22. Numerous better options on a fwd flank.
