So we open the season away to Brisbane and according to this leaked screenshot on the MB, round 2 we get St Kilda at home on a Sat twilight time to suit foxtel not the fans here.

With the weighted double ups rule this would mean we won't be getting a return match against either (since we have a max of 1 against the bottom 6 teams which will be Freo). So expect no double ups against Carlton, GC, WB either.

Two easier games without Gaff.

eek I hope not. All these easy teams first up means we'll have plenty of big games with minimal 'easy' games we can manage players through.

No double ups against Melbourne, Richmond and Collingwood would be a real disappointment.
I think we will get Mel out of them. Afl with too many of their locked in marquee matches with Rich and Coll, they will want those big vic double ups for crowds. Leaves very little room for us to have doubles against them. Why I think its certain to get a double against GWS for the top 6 grouping, Hawks since they will shunt that to a Tassie game this year and Melb as the third one.

As disappointing as it is to open up a flag defence against Brisbane and St Kilda, at least the two games we’ll have without Gaff won’t be the most difficult.

There will be a fair bit of competition between Sheed, Masten and Hutchings to retain their spots.

1st game for us should be Collingwood at the MCG, every season should start with a replay of the GF in the marquis Friday night game.

Funny how the 1st 2 games of the season feature Victorian teams. The Richmond Carlton season opener should be scrapped, it is a joke, Richmond get an easy start to the season every year.

It looks like we might get some more Saturday night games, much better than the Sunday games just about every week this year.

Firstly if true i'll be happy with that as Gaff will be missing and Kennedy if playing will be coming from a limited pre season so easy games first up and 8 points pocketed is fine with me. Secondly i'd prefer harder games later in the season as it prepares you for finals.

Crows will be our double up S.A team as we played Port twice last year, so that's the 6-12 match up covered and Freo is our bottom six team covered.

I think we will ask for more games at the G so logically that will be against Pies, Hawks, Demons & Tigers as they all finished inside the top 6 and three of our double ups come from there.

We played Collingwood at the G last year but they like two grand final rematches the following year as its a promoters dream so we will play the Pies twice.

Richmond, Collingwood, Melbourne and Hawthorn all traveled to Perth only once during the regular season last year.

We played Richmond and Melbourne at home however so looking into my crystal ball which is as close as anyone gets to working out the fixture my final guess is

Adelaide
Fremantle
Collingwood
Hawthorn

and one of Melbourne or Richmond. I'm leaning towards Melbourne.

This will also give us 3 games at the MCG, up from two the previous year.

Don't think the AFL will do us any favours regarding the fixturing, so i expect we will get 3 games against top 6 teams, 1 against middle 6 and 1 against bottom 6. Bottom 6 will obviously be Freo, my guess is the middle 6 double up will be one of GWS or Port based on previous close games or Geelong due to the whole Kelly situation. Top 6 double ups will obviously include the Pies, and my guess is the tigers due to the fact everyone harped on about us not playing them at the G this year and they're perceived as challenging strongly again next year, and the dees because according to everyone in the media they're going to go up a level next season and that'll mean the hardest possible fixture for us.

Double ups against Rich, Coll, Melb, Port/Gws/Cats, Freo

Will be a very difficult fixture if so, but as we showed this year we can beat anyone, anywhere.

Anyone know when the full fixture is meant to come out?

Port and Cats are probably due to slide in 2019 which would help. We match up pretty well against Richmond and Pies, so I'd be quite happy to play them twice. Would bw much better than two games against bombers or sydney who we struggle to beat.

Wouldn't be too fussed with double ups against either of them, not so sure we struggle so much against them as they just caught us at an ideal time. 3 debutants against Sydney in round 1 and no JK, and no JD or Barrass when we played them in round 13 and kicked 7.15. No JD or JK or Sheed against the Bombers and kicked 6.16, we actually had 2 more scoring shots than they did.

Freo poster on main board reckons they’re moving Sunday 2:40 games to 4:10 AWST

They're definitely planning to do one Sunday night EDT game over here (so before daylight savings finishes). Not sure past that.
