146k up the sleeve... happy to go with the big set and forget rucks, good loop hole (C) coverage and happy to bat deep in the midfield.
will probably have to change it up a bit come round 1. Thoughts?

Trying really hard to pinpoint why you've gone for Taylor Walker, coming up empty, haha. Rest is good, if a little on the light side when it comes to def and fwd. Would probably cull Gawn down to Goldy/Witts/Jacobs etc. and a mid, and add one up back and down forward. Again though, that's me. Just because of the likely mid depth and scoring potential. Your rooks on field are pretty good though

First attempt, don't normally do Fantasy.

Website is weird...

$0 in the bank haha
Great team for a first attempt.

Only query is why you would start worp in the middle instead of forwards. I understand the want for DPP but personally I don’t think it matters as much early on and with 2 trades a week in fantasy it’s definitelt not as important as it is in SuperCoach. Also probably could stick him forward since you’ve got Setterfield there already for that link.

The website ****ing sucks you’re right. As far as a little analysis goes this is my thoughts:

Defence to me looks great and personally think you’ve chosen some of the better and safer midpricers. Probably the position that is worth taking gambles on.

Midfield is a little light on. Think you need 1 more premium. To get the coin to do this I personally would downgrade one of your forward to a midpricer (or Worp) and then upgrade Worps spot to a safer premium.

Rucks are great and can see Nank improving again this year.

Forwards are heavy on. I do like them though. But as above I think you can downgrade one and solidify that midfield spot.

Still think this is a great side for a first attempt. Looks like you have the jist of fantasy already with your selections.

I reckon Tex could be set for a big year, was playing injured all last year. An easy swap for a Worpel if he shows something.
Gawn and Grundy I reckon can go 1 and 2 in the league.

Wow, much appreciated.

Swung a few changes to sure up mids without losing much up front.

Miles > Libba
Macrae > Cripps
Billings > Neale
And Worpel fwd

With news of Brodie Smith being a lock as Adelaide's designated kicker, it's finally happened. After all my screwing around during my last week off, I've finally got a team that I'm both happy with, and that accomodate changes if JLT deems it necessary (this is the important part considering how many teams I've been 'happy with' so far).

Have 106K remaining plus 46K from Logue and 20K from Parker and Cavarra (172K in total) if I need to change any of the positions up. Means I can go from Crouch to Adams, Rocky to M Crouch, Zerrett to Macrae, Brayshaw to Macrae, English to half decent ruck, Newman to Whitfield, Parfitt to Kelly etc. etc.

Phew. It's pretty risky and some probably won't support it, but having 5 deep best 22 players in both my forward and back-line's, means I feel a lot better about the structure. The flow-on effect also means that my bench rooks are less risky as well. Only ? is Grundy, but will only have to lose one forward or backline player to make that work as well. Gonna lay off for 13 days until JLT 1, haha.

I like this team and I can make a case for selecting all the players you have listed, with the exception of Jacobs, but you will at least get what you pay for there.

I've gone for a similar structure but slighter lighter on in DEF and FWD.

The one thing that stands out to me, and only because I'm battling the same problem, is the potential lack of Captain options outside of Dangerfield.

I have Brayshaw and Zerret, but they are M3 and M4 for me. I thought i needed more guaranteed 100's so have Macrae and Cripps at M1 and M2. I also have Grundy as R1.

I really wouldn't start Macrae AND Grundy. If you want to have 1 to be your captain, fine. But both are full price pays and u want value in your preseason lineup. Since there are tons of MIDs to pick from, maybe keep Grundy and drop Macrae to a similar scoring mid and use that money elsewhere

I would argue Macrae has value and could finish the year as the number 1 scoring mid, so I'm choosing to have him now as he presents another captain option.

I concede that Grundy has issues and pre JLT we will overlook his current injury concerns. However, his last 5 games were an average of over 130, he has the capacity to average up to 30 points better than the 3rd best ruckman this year, and probably 10 points better than the 2nd. I'm happy to call that value.

Macrae and Grundy almost certainly wont be gaining any more value though. You dont need options with them. You just leave them at captain. I would rather spend on players that I can get for less now then i will have to pay for them later

And its a good approach. The trick for all of us is to balance cash generation with point scoring. If we all had the same team, what would be the point!

As much as it sucks not being able to fit Macrae in, I think Cripps and Neale are safe as houses and think it definitely sures up your side.

RUC: Grundy, Goldstein
FWD: Dangerfield, Dunkley, Heeney, Setterfield, Cavarra, Parker

Finally completed my first fantasy draft for this year, got 187k left in the bank.

Still getting annoyed at the interface unfriendliness of this new fantasy site lol

If i were you i would make Mosquito a 170 then maybe bump Devon down to like a Dunkley/Heeney, then use that and your extra cap space to find a way to get another forward in there. Maybe PAFC27 can offer better advice, but i'm not feeling Lienert either. Otherwise its a very good build

That defense is huge which leaves the mids a bit exposed for mine. Other than that a very solid kit i reckon.
My only suggestion is Cripps over Macrae for R1 loophole VC.

Rounds 1-6, and 13,14,15 have Thursday nighters.

First post back for the year, keen for fantasy! Thoughts and feedback on my team would be appreciated :)

Nice team. Id downgrade wingard to a rookie and upgrade english to any ruck you want. Think worpel will get more mid time and average slighlty more than wingard. It sounds like trengrove is the #1 ruck at the dogs but if english gets it he could be a good pick

If you drop macrae down to kelly, hately down to a 170k mid. You could then go parfitt/newman upto any premo you want. May be something to think about. Really like your team tho

Decent team. I'd be cautious of Fort at R2. He may not line up in round 1 but if he does, how many games does he play? You'd need to have him up until the bye to see any significant price growth. Will he be dropped? If he is, who is a viable sideways trade? Even if he doesn't get dropped, there's a significant downgrade down the track to finally upgrade Fort to whoever the R2 will be.

Thanks for feed back

Yeah considering ruck changes to maybe English slightly down grade a premo mid to zerrett then upgade fort to English or Jacobs

Menegola has had an interrupted preseason if that makes things any easier
