That's the problem though. He's not the solution.

Agreed. Just had to watch his body language every time Grimes beat him to the ball. Chris Fagan clearly saw this too and tried to tell him to take it easy, not be so hard on himself. Charlie just shrugged him off. Needs to work on this aspect.

Loved how Fagan approached him though - positive and warm, really pumped him up.

Charlie got beaten, but Richmond threw everything at him; Brisbane reverted to bombing it long and shot themselves in the foot.

I thought Jacobs and GWS for 2 years was a done deal.
And now rumours of the Blues being interested sounds like more fluff.
His manager is going into overdrive now.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out, I just cant see him at the Crows next year

I’m pretty sure the “CEY rumoured to leave” thing is an annual event. If you troll back over the years I’ve seen him linked to Sydney, GC, Bris, St Kilda and Carlton in different years. And that’s just off the top of my head

Charlie does not want to do that. I have been told by someone at the club part of the reaso he left is because we wanted him to go through the middle more and he has no interest in that. He wants to be a career small forward. He didnt like the feedback give to him in this regard by our coaches.

Such a waste.

When beaten up forward, as he was last weekend, he is a non entity.

Peak Eddie Betts would cause havoc in the middle when the goals dried up. Cameron may never have that extra trait.

Eddie to the middle is one change up I don't think we've used anywhere near enough. Certainly there has to be a balance and we did it a bit more this year, but he just seems to make things happen when he's around the ball and opposition tend to panic when he's near by.

And yet he's been with us on a rookie contract. Maybe he is really loyal, but I suggest there's no interest out there for a reason

I'd rather keep Greenwood! If CEY gets anything more than 1 year, he is taking the place of a kid who should be in the team.

I know he has his fans on BF, but he's not in our next flag team and not going to be teaching the younger players much, so it' a no from me

I do think he is a good player and wish he never left.

But an even better player as an attacking mid. He really is a mini Dangerfield. Strong out of the contest and that burst speed and great evasiveness.

That is also how our club saw him.


Wasted playing predominantly as a SF. But that is what he wants.


Look at McHenry for us. Will start his career at SF then move into the midfield. A transition Chad Wingard has all but made the past two seasons.

Charlie should be doing that too. Should have happened two seasons ago.

Whereas a guy like Murphy, if he has an AFL future, will be a career SF.

Why is a thread dedicated to actual rumours ridiculous? That way you don't have to weed through the crap posted on the discussion thread to find them. Works well on the Cartlon board.

What truly is ridiculous is so many have struggled to comprehend basic instructions.

Watching him struggle against Otten and our top ups in defence with minimal impact made me want to pass in him.
