No he recruits.
OK. Why the coach comment?I know but I’m doubtful he can pull off a star. More likely the other way. He may get rid of a few who supporters think are stars or potentially
Wish we had 4 Steven’s. I’d even take one at the moment. That’s no good. We need 2.

Because I think players leave for a few reasons including the coach. Money and success are the other reasons. Success probably number one just. Coach third but still a reason. Let’s face it we probably got Hamill and Gehrig because of silly blightOK. Why the coach comment?

...is quite podgy.Steven May...
I'd kill for cunningtonThe Age reporting we are into Todd Goldstein as a FA ruck to assist Marshall.
NM likely to be amenable given their need for draft picks to rebuild.
So the trade would be:
Saints get Goldstein as a FA.
NM get a compensation pick.
I would not even slightly get that move. How does that even work. The Age reporting we are into Todd Goldstein as a FA ruck to assist Marshall.

Write to Michael Gleeson.I would not even slightly get that move. How does that even work.
It only works if either Marshall or Goldstein is a better forward that either Bruce or membery. Probably has to be Bruce. I don’t think either are. And even one is it’s that slight it’s not worth the money.Such a strange one to link us too.
We know Marshall needs to improve his tap work but that's his only real weakness right now. Plus, it is his first season actually rucking so with a full preseason working speficially on that, there is plenty of room for him to improve.
Here is a comparison for Marshall and Goldstein this year. Apart from that tap work, Marshall is arguably having a better season

Club sees Marshall as more of a forward and playing the role Bruce is as a part time ruck ? Either way we need another ruck I doubt Longer or Pierce will be there next year. Not the worst idea Roma definitely needs help maybe trade Bruce out for a decent draft pickSuch a strange one to link us too.

Agreed. Marshall isn't that great in the forward line and we would be stifling his development by playing him there to accommodate a 31 year old ruckman. It only works if either Marshall or Goldstein is a better forward that either Bruce or membery. agreed, but if we lose stephen, robbo, paddy, we'll be struggling to reach the minimum cap spend. Grabbing Goldy on a front loaded contract as back up for marshall wouldn't be the worst move, but only if we can't find a better way to spend the $$ (coniglio etc)It only works if either Marshall or Goldstein is a better forward that either Bruce or membery. Don’t see any reason he can’t be a very good forwardAgreed. Marshall isn't that great in the forward line and we would be stifling his development by playing him there to accommodate a 31 year old ruckman.
Surely we get someone we need though to spend cap money. We need another ruck but you don’t need 2 first rucks. No club does that. Madness and hopefully not true.agreed, but if we lose stephen, robbo, paddy, we'll be struggling to reach the minimum cap spend. I’m just going to mention Will Brodie again. Averaging 32 touches in the NEAFL, big bodied natural midfielder, really want.
It would be a big step backwards to move Marshall into that second ruck position. It takes away his biggest strengths of his mobility at stoppages and ability to expose other ruckman through winning that contested ball. He does need to work on his tap work but that will come. He has shown he has Grundy upside so it would be crazy to take him out of that roleClub sees Marshall as more of a forward and playing the role Bruce is as a part time ruck ? Apart the afl players the Neal would be about b grade ammosI feel like lots of touches in the NEAFL doesn’t necessarily count for much.
