A lot has been said about his kicking, just because he can hit targets with both feet. But his hands in close are some of the best I've seen.
He is another one who needs a bit of confidence and a tank but will be a star.

Yeah, pretty confident that if his fitness base gets better he'll make it. I'm less confident in Coffield, he looks like he's coasting.

This is a name i'm very interested in amigo!

Every time i see him play, he rips it up...Displaying almost freakish qualities at times!
Certainly surprised the hell out of me as to just how good this kid is!
He doesn't look it physically! Shortish with a keg for a rig and looks like he should be a slow battler
But he's got some delightful tricks, pace and something we seriously lack in uncompromising passion for the contest and cause!

He can be shit as well. Last time he had a killer game I watched the next week because we are meant to be in to him. He was very quiet. He's Gary Ablett one week and Geoff Ablett the next.

Coff doesn't look like someone who was a top 10 pick 18 months ago.
When he first came in, he looked fantastic but seems like a shell of that at the moment.
Hopefully its just second year blues but it's starting to get concerning that he has lost that spark he had.

Bad manager if that’s the case. Surely an inside outside goal kicking mid is more important than an outside goal kicking winger

Outside point kicking winger I think you mean. I would pay more for Gresham but Billings is more advanced into his career and would be expecting a pay rise as he gets around 100 games under his belt. He is entering peak earning capacity. Gresh would still think his next contract would make him well off.

I’m not sure age should make a difference. Surely it’s your ability at contract time.

I think early in careers players just want to get a kick, they get around 100 games and want cash as well.

It entirely depends on where billings wants to go (if he wants to go).

Zero chance of anything close to pick 10 (or equivalent value) given he's uncontracted if he chose the bummers and dodo for instance.
(Although I dare say they probably couldn't afford him these days, so maybe no issue there?)

The Tom Mitchell trade a few years ago is an ok precedent I think for billings current value.
Pick 14 for him- in a deal that was done very quickly (on like day 1 of trade week?)

At the time it was instantly widely regarded as very much a deal in the hawks favour- the swans could well have played much harder ball if they wanted... and successfully squeezed more than pick 14 out of the hawks for him.
But it seemed that for the sake of getting a deal done and dusted early with no hassle- the swans took slight unders for Mitchell.

I'd say we would (like sydney with mitchell) not take a super hardball line with any club that wasn't trying to do a dodo and offering up a "4th rounder or GTFO, we'll go Rookie draft".

So yeah- mid/late first rounder for billings I'd say is the best we'd get.
yeah cos its so important to get the deal done. get a job on sen.

Roberton is on a decent sized contact as well.
From memory, it was around 650-700k a season

He will likely get a portion of that. I heard some bloke on sen (from memory a player manager) explain how players contracts are paid out through early retirement. Whatever is left, also give to Cogs.

Ummm everyone who does footy tips knows to tip the team with the sacked coach, the week after. Doesn't mean much over the long term.

I had a thought today.

We definitely should have sacked ross lyon after our prelim finals in 09 or 10.

Guaranteed flag.
