Zero chance of getting Cameron. Beyond fanciful.

AFL would deliver a truckload of “ambassador” money on his doorstep to keep him at GWS.

Even if he is going somewhere there are 16 other clubs that will throw the house at him money wise. No chance at all for us.
I have faith. He’s a genuine marking forward chance.

I will answer that with two great examples buddy left hawthorn for cash. Lions lost lynch to the bears, for cash. So cash talks no matter what you say. There are so many players who have left for money. I don’t care what it takes brown paper bag or not. It may , just may install the lions as red hot favourites if were to happen. Challenge to the lions , is do we have the balls to have a red hot go with a compelling cash offer. GO LIONS!!! Make Cameron ,look at the offer and say what the f...k !!!
No chance. Victorian clubs would have more money and a bidding war is the last thing we need and if we get him at what cost. We need to target players who will be squeezed out of the club like Williams in my opinion, if GWS decides to keep all of Whitfield, Finlayson and Cameron at the club on decent coin.

My thoughts , I believe all lions players would gain an immeasurable sense of belief and confidence knowing they have a coleman medalist down forward. Can you put a price on that ? Some things are completely unmeasurable.
If it meant ,in terms of cost, then going one short on the list , i believe it would be worth it..The forward line. I watched, during the finals lacked a dedicated full forward. Cameron would be a focal point that if brisbane lions continues their policy of bombing it into the foward line ( i think you would at the very least agree if me was frightening to watch and completely stupid ) like they did ,cameron would at the very least make it a contest, letting charlie to feast on the scraps with his speed and evasiveness. If the bears could offer a truck load of cash to lynch from Fitzroy, then my question is why can’t we offer it now to one of the best forwards in the business. Do you want a full list with players like Archie on it , or have one less on the list but have an absolute A grader who will give us 60 or more goals a season. It was ok for the bears then , why is it not now. R the bears/ lions to chicken scared to do it now.

I don't think anyone is saying don't ask the question or make the offer. Every club will be doing the same thing if they have the cap space.

What we're saying is, realistically, it's not going to happen so why waste our (not the club's) time going on about it. We might as well fantasize about pairing up Cripps, Fyfe and Coniglio in our midfield while we're at it.

We can chose to be negative or we can chose to be positive , be selective with who we want ,pick players that will add something to the overall team balance ,inspire the younger players ,embolden them with a greater sense of belief.
You mentioned 3 players we don’t even need. Isn’t Neale AA good enough. I would rather focus on the teams short comings than what i believe does not need to be fixed. So irrelevant point.

I'd rather a completely dominant midfield over a single KPF personally, so no - Neale isn't good enough if you're setting the metric this high.

Lemme say I acknowledge that we are in need of another game changer however the immense amount of money your proposing to supposedly win Cameron over would be far less than other clubs chasing him, plus why would he want to come to bris he’s already out of the footy bubble and is about to play a grand final
Realistically we are no chance

Every time I set foot in this thread I'm very quickly reminded of why I rarely set foot in this thread. :straining:
What do we reckon this guy will fetch if we trade him to another thread?

I'm an unrestricted free agent about three times over, I'll go wherever I like for as much as I can get. NEAFL thread, pls.

Jamie Elliot would be worthwhile. I assume some cap space will open up if we give up the likes of Bundy/Taylor/Cutler whom we would have paid a premium to keep in the past. Capspace + list space cost is much more palatable than giving up a pick. Then we could use our first rounder + GC pick to trade for another premium player.

I’m not sure where both Laird and Smith fit in to be honest. If you look at our current back six it looks something like this;

Answerth Andrews Witherden
Rich Adams Gardiner

I really rate Answerth so don’t want to see him relegated, Laird would be an upgrade on Witherden and that could be a possibility where he could be moved to the bench. I see us still playing those 3 lock down defenders in Andrews, Adams, Gardiner etc so where does that leave someone like Smith? Then there is the addition of Ah Chee so where would he be played? Wing, HFF? I’m just curious as to the ‘fit’ of our team that is all.
Answerth may move up into the midfield next season.

If we were going to play fantasy list manager and talk about players who have no realistic chance of playing for us, Cameron wouldn’t be top 5 for me.

Grundy
Cripps
Fyfe
Martin
Gawn

Actually, I’m not even sure he’d be the first bloke Id take from GWS. It would be the likes of Coniglio, Whitfield, JKelly and (after yesterday!) Williams first, I suspect.
