One thing that will go in our favour is Elliot doesn’t like the footy bubble. His reaction to being doorstopped this year was hilarious.Love to have him here.

If we get Elliot, surely this would mean that Bundy is gone...like for like?
I dont think he is gone, outside bundy and elliot we dont have any real depth in the sm fwd area. A great move to strengthen this position. Letting bundy go and getting elliot just feels like an even stevens move, neither improving or weakening the list. Having both gives us depth and versatility.

As much as I like Bundy as a player, I would put Elliott in another class altogether.

Cameron, McCarthy, Elliot
What a trio that would be!

All are dangerous 1 on 1, are quick, can take a big grab, and can tackle hard.

Throw in Zorks and Rayner rotating through there as well.

Opisition defence will be shitting themselves.

Let's go the quad:

Yeah he probably is, i agree. Mccarthy, charlie, elliot even bailey as a sm fwd/mid option, all have injury histories. Should two of them go down for a 6-8 week stretch i think we would be pretty glad to have bundy step in. I think we can fit both in our squad.
I like bundy too, and i would love him to see out his playing career here and be given an indigenous development role with the club. He probably has 2yrs good footy left, has stuck with the club thru bad times and injury. Creates a good culture.

I'm very dubious on this Elliott news. I don't trust the players managers one iota. They have many tricks these managers and one of then is throw a name of another club into the fold to a journo and then force the other clubs to up their offer.

If both parties are indeed interested then great it would be a good get for the club although like Daniher its comes with the many questions about long term injuries - at least Elliott got on the field this year.

As for the Cutler talk - I would hate to lose him as he plenty of ability and we have invested six years into him. But I have a feeling he wants out and I think that's been portrayed all year and probably one of the reasons he hasn't been selected. I have said before I spoke to him before the season and he seemed disillusioned as to why he wasn't playing in the seniors in the pre season games and gave me the impression he was frustrated and possibly already contemplating leaving. Have to say there hasn't been a lot of interest for him but it is early days.

Not convinced Rayner will spend significant time in the midfield, has a long way to go to build the needed fitness base.

He made an enormous improvement in his fitness in the 2nd half of the year. Hopefully he comes back to preseason in good shape and has a big preseason improving his running capacity.

Mitch Cleary seems to be the one with all the "inside information" these days.

He's been pretty accurate too. Sam McClure as much as I dislike him is the other one who does get things, though it has been less newsworthy stuff this year so far.

What you say is borne out in respect of Hawthorn. Graham Wright saying they haven't spoken to Elliott or his manager.

I remember someone on here mentioned Elliott to Brisbane way back at the start of August. Not bad!
It was me.

I had a friend that works at Champion Data that said that Elliot was going to the Lions - done deal.
This was before he was playing good regular footy though and that Coll only had a one year contract in front of him.
BTW, he texted me just before saying 'Mitch Cleary is clearly 2 months late on this scoop'.

FWIW, he also heard that Coniglio was heading to Hawthorn.

I'm still got my fingers crossed that Laird is coming.

My position on Elliot is that if you could get him on the park consistently he's worth having. He's not getting any younger ,we haven't had a whole lot of joy picking up Pies players since Mal Michael. I wouldn't be crestfallen if it doesn't unfold.

It's interesting people speculating more m/f time for Rayner and McCarthy . McCarthy I can see because he did it a couple if times this year with only one real pre season under his belt . Rayner has a lot of work to do imo , but he's young enough to improve rapidly if he really puts in over summer. But not extended m/f time as yet I would think.

Re Cutler who knows what the truth is but he played well enough in his 3 senior games , it'd be a shame to lose someone like him at only 24 but either we've decided we don't want him or he wants a change or maybe both.

I think Bundy's near the end but he's a handy player who can fill a couple of roles should injuries strike.

It's quite possible the Pies are still only offering him a two year deal, which would explain the Melb offer of three years.
