Jack Martin is who we should be chasing . Lives in Queensland already wouldn’t be huge adjustment connection with Don aswell . Would be pretty handy having him and luggage as our wingers .
I know he's playing for Gold Coast who have been a bit of a basket case but I really don't get the hype with Martin. He looks great at times but has terrible disposal and fades in and out of games far to much.

I tend to agree!

Port have a plethora of rucks. I would be looking at one of theirs and possibly the likes of Peter Ladhams, Frampton and Hayes.

I’m not overly taken by this years draft so if we go looking at trading as a means to making our list better than I don’t have a problem with it. Rules dictate we need to bring in 3 via the draft so Coleman plus 2. It’ll be an interesting off-season I believe.

Upgrading McInerney to the senior list counts as well.

So theoretically we only need to take two live selections at the draft.

So Coleman plus 1.

What would our salary cap be like? Beams left so there should be a fair bit there. Some mid tier players will be let go traded so that would free up some cap space. I know we wouldn’t have the $$$ that North and StKilda have but we certainly are better of list wise than both of those. It would be interesting to see who could shake free IMO and contracts aren’t really worth the lower they’re written on at the moment.

Are we now a destination club?

St Kilda and Kangaroos have million+ spare they can't get rid of.

Who wants to come to Brisbane?

Rumour is he wants to go to Vic but I would still be thinking about Patton.

Left field idea, but if Bennell has cleaned his life up and has legitimate injury issues, he could be a potential steal if we could get his legs fixed.

Thought the same thing when I saw the article. If we could get his body right he is an absolute star at his best.

Has played 2 games since arriving at the Dockers, does a calf really take that long to heal!!
It actually surprised me to hear that Bennell has been at Freo for 4 years (only 2 games in that time). I just don’t see anyone taking the punt unless it was in 2021 and he demonstrated he could get on the park consistently in 2020. He can clearly play, but it’s the baggage he comes with.

Thats it, the baggage, I recall when he was traded from the Suns, they were pretty happy he was gone, turns out they were right, I cant get that Launceston Picture out of my head.

He gets back to fitness, then blows it during preseason or in a reserves match.
I guess if you were getting him for nothing and working with our rehab group I'd be half thinking of doing it.

Right out of the culture he's been in . Obviously a big risk and we'd have to do our due diligence but it's hard developing guys as good as he is when he's on

I wouldn't touch this bloke with a 9' pole, to many issues and the least of these issues is his Strained Calf

Can't believe people still believe the 'strained calf' story with Bennell. He's so far past the 3rd strike it's not even funny.

So when he was on crutches on the boundary line after his last injury that was just a ploy to hide his drug suspensions?

I don't think he would've got a contract for this year if it was drugs related. Freo aren't that stupid

Aren't they stupid,

In today's football society, we have to help them to the full end, Rubix is on the money

The big issue for me with Bennell is that bringing him back to Qld brings him right back to the culture he was in previously, when he was first reported as having drug issues and was given away for basically nothing. If we bring him here expecting him to be out of his dodgy circles, we have to remember he was already hanging around in dodgy circles here.

Will Brodie dropped again by the Suns. Could be a value trade.
