So this might look familiar but it's actually a new spreadsheet, built to hopefully make it easier to update during the draft.

Going to do the best I can, hopefully it doesn't break. 🤞🤞🤞

If that's what they are thinking then they can fu** right off now. What a pathetic mentality to have.

We just drafted a bloke who refused to go interstate. Poor attitude is apparently a desirable trait for us.

Hooker and Hurley are both finished

Still in better touch than Fletcher-Roberts was when he won the flag. You can protect these guys with dominant midfielders but that doesn’t seem to be ever on the cards.

It sounds like Poulter has been a bit of a slider, I heard some people saying he would/could go around pick 20.

I'm so excited about Reef McInnes and he looks absolutely buzzing too I already love him!

Henry and Macrae sound like pretty good prospects too.

happy with that. we've done well with the picks we had to play around with (this years and future picks)

we received the equivalent of pick 70 for treloar and stevo but that trade period is separate to this.

trade period was the biggest F imaginable but I'd give an A grade for this draft haul.

i dont rate ned guy but i still think derek hine knows what hes doing!

Port when they drafted Chad Wingard and the Dogs with Bailey Smith probably aren't too worried about when they did that.

Spot the guy who is already planning on requesting a trade

Bruhn looked shattered.

I love our holmes pick he has so much upside i just think trading future 1sts for kids is very risky...if we had traded a future 2nd for it id call it great. Clearly we werent prepared to let melbourne take him.

Im just glad we drafted a pure ruck for the first time in 10 years and i rate him.

Your club did very well...i love collingwoods picks but they gave up a lot.

Think freo got great value and essendon did well as did carlton.

Bruhn lòoked like he was thinking of quitting footy when his name was first called.

Perkins seemed like he wasn't really even into footy period.

Weirdest draftee interview I think I've ever seen and made me immediately wonder if Dodoro might have had a momentary pang of regret creep if he'd seen it.

Maybe he isn't. I get the impression Chris Judd mostly played football because he was good at it and it could earn him a lot of money, rather than because he actually liked playing it.

You do need mids but with next years draft being strong in them i can see why you took the talls now.

He looks like his entire world has collapsed, like he has just been drafted into a doomed army and his death is all but assured.

It was a surprising one will be interesting to see if he stays there beyond 2 years.

There’s excuses every year. Fact is in the last twenty years, there have been multiple teams that have won flags without dominant talls. Only one without a dominant midfield (WCE) and they dodged the best team in it.

4 top 10 pick defenders have won flags in the last twenty years. Two of them were in the Lions team from the Fitzroy merge. We have four on our list currently. 6 if you count McGrath and Heppell. It is not the way to premierships.

I clearly recall the same things said about Hugh McLuggage when the Lions drafted him. I am thinking that maybe he is an introvert/shy etc

A very interesting draft night for the Pies.

Trade out the future first, but then trade back a few times to get extra future 3rds next year. Net effect means you can match a Daicos bid, maybe have a bit extra for trades if needed.

But this year and next the draft haul is then Daicos - a potential star, some later picks including this year, a very mid round pick in Poulter and then 3 guys who sit towards the top 20.

No genuine talls really, so that aim hasn't been fulfilled and the 3 guys don't exactly match the 3 that went out. Treloar, Phillips and Stephenson were all very specific players. McInnes and Henry are versatile and Macrae can play wing or on ball, Poulter too. So there's plenty of room to shuffle things - Crisp to midfield, McInnes back, DeGoey midfield, Henry forward, Macrae wing or on ball etc etc.

Certainly it's a solid draft haul with lots of talent but the lack of genuine talls and the lack of a super quick dangerous forward option probably concern me.

Been a few rumours that his “overconfidence” is borderline arrogant and he’s not the most popular teammate.
Fair enough. Although seems to have a good pre existing relationship with Alex Davies.

he was clearly the player for us to take.
Hopefully starting in rehab may be a good way for him to get accustomed to AFL life.

Safe path? Again? Are you stupid?
Adelaide are rarely conservative at the draft, and that’s not what’s have done here.

Pedlar was only taken at 11 because he's from Adelaide

But it makes sense, considering how many out of towners are requesting trades

no he wasn’t, look at what Twomey and Balmer saying about him. He had bolted into the 10-15 range and not just for Adelaide.

If Adelaide wanted to play it safe, why wouldn’t they just take Powell who had been ranked in that range for longer, and is also from SA.
