Is the predicted 16 month period between games a sign of not working hard enough or not having access to an elite AFL injury rehab programme or somewhere in the middle?

Yeah but that's when you send him this gif and hang up the phone. Also I wouldn't be just offering pick 4 but also pick 24. The only way Dodo would consider it would be if McDonald was still there at pick 4. I guess we'll see how badly he wants him if it plays out that way. A lot would have to go right.

We're not passing on Hollands due to a delayed start to this year. He'd be most likely playing BH anyway.

Club will be looking at this decision as a 10-15 year investment. Initial months mean nothing.

Regarding hollands professionalism, im pretty certain he won an award when all the boys were together for the all stars game for the way he approached the week and how professional he was .

The time to be ready for Dodo is on draft night if / when McDonald falls into our lap. Its not in his best interests to offer anything until pick 4 is a full blown commodity (ie McDonald).

You'd like to think if we're not interested in McDonald then we'd offer up 4 & 24 for 6, 7 & 8. If he doesn't want to do that then the best I would go after that is 4 straight up 6 & 7 or no deal.

I don’t think anyone’s offer will meet our demands for pick 4 if it turned out that way. They said they were open to trading it but would need to be “blown away”. I’m sure that means we’d take a firm stance an ensure clubs pay a premium for it - not just for its typical worth.

But hey, if clubs want to pay up for it then I’m keen.

I did not intend to put much emphasis on the delayed start, the risk is more about his ability to achieve his “potential” following an acl operation and subsequent rehab. The point of the delayed start was just that he may be compared by some recruiters as comparable to a 2021 draftee.

I agree that the club guided by medical advice (which obviously I don’t have) would be taking a medium to long term perspective on draftees, particularly early picks.
