Pros:
- Richmond (Reigning Premiers), Geelong (Reigning Minor Premiers) & Brisbane (Top 4) only once.
- Our only 5 day break of the year will be the same amount (days) break our opponent (Adelaide) get heading into the Round 5 game... so no advantage to them.
- Favourable mix of breaks leading up to games against our opponents - 9/22 of our games will be off the same break length as our opponent, 7/22 of our games will favour us with a day or more 'break advantage' on our opponent and only 5/22 of our games will have our opponent coming off a 'break advantage'.
- Not having to play in Perth or Brisbane (particularly during the day) early in the season when both cities still experience very warm temperatures. We've often had issues in the past recovering in the following weeks from these sort of games.
- Playing two games in Adelaide. Who would've thought we'd be saying this a few years ago? Some of our better performances been saved for this venue in recent years and clearly doesn't hold many fears. Probably more confident playing the SA teams there compared with Marvel.

Cons:
- Not so overjoyed at playing Fremantle in Round 1 despite many others already circling this one as extremely 'winnable'. We know what happens with a team in their first game under a new coach... as the Dockers introduce Justin Longmuir to the coaches box.
- Gold Coast only once next season. Only playing them once in 2019 probably cost us a 'home' final.
- West Coast only once (again away) next season. Played them once at home in the last five seasons (an 11 goal win in 2017).
- Not a huge fan of the Thursday Night fixtures... quite like them as an opposition fan though. Reminds me of a bit of a pre-season atmosphere whenever we play them.

That adds up to 21.

I'm more than satisfied if we make finals and get belted first week. At least we made it. 10 other teams would love to make the finals but didn't.
Winning a flag is the only thing.

At this stage of the process I am wanting and expecting to get to the finals semi-comfortably, placed in the 5-7 range and win at least 1 final. There is no reason why this can not happen especially with the last 2 seasons placing in 8/9 positions (with some bad luck costing us a game or two in both seasons). Winning a grand final appearance or premiership would be absolutely great but am happy to wait for a couple more years for that.

Should clarify that this post was meant to be sarcastic. It was a dig at the club's response to our final loss, in that we had a successful year as we made finals.

At least win a final FFS.

The year GCS get their shit together and turn into a good team will be the year we get them twice.
Only bottom 5 team we get twice is the Swans, where we usually get stitched up at their ground on an annual basis.

By and large, tough draw, but not so tough given we don't get the Tigers or Eagles twice.
Quietly happy we only play the Dogs once too. they seem to have the wood on us. Probably the hard running and pressure.

Making plans for trips to Canberra & Brisbane.

8-3 into the bye should be our aim. 10-1 (can't see us beating the Tiges) would be an A+
7 winnables after the draw. Eagles, Dogs & Giants away will be tough. Pies and Port could go either way.

15 wins or we're still treading water.
