We have picks in round 1, 2 and 3. We gave round 4 away.
We have 4 father son prospects - MacKay; Tom Silvagni; Gleeson and one other...
That will use up late selections and I would figure the round 3 pick would go on one of these ruck candidates.
That leaves rounds 1 and 2 for targets or trades.

Pencil Gibbo in for one of the 3 (subject to change depending on list sizes) required draft picks used too.

I think 2 metre Peter deserves a mention :p, would be a good potential replacement for Levi as has been mentioned and will likely not cost much.

Like the suggestion of Ladhams but I would consider Callum Coleman-Jones recent indiscretions aside is someone I have liked since his draft year. Would think we will likely take a fringe ruckman through trade and draft a project ruckman we went into 2020 with 3 ruckman and Levi. Considering Kruzer had ongoing injury issues it was very risky and we did actually only have 1 available ruckman in Pittonet early in the season.
Yes
Good mark
Accurate
Useless at the ground gets and slower than H Mc or Tom L
He was A grade....had couple long term injuries.....

Now......?

Only 24....better RUCK than casboult

YES👍

Assuming final list size is 40 - we have to shed 9 players to get back to 36 before the draft.
Simpson and Kruezer are 2, that leaves 7.
I would expect Moore and Goddard to go, bringing us down to 5.
Finbar O'Dwyer has never had a stat so that would see us with 4 to cull.

Polson, Lang, and Kennedy will go. I'm also tipping Macreadie, but others on here expect him to get another contract.

Owies, BSOS, Finbar, Lang, Moore, Goddard, Macreadie, Betts and obviously Simpson and Kreuze would all go before Polson and Kennedy. Polson is contracted and Kennedy is at worst handy depth to cover both midfield and half forward.

Still plenty to shed.

You could perhaps list JSOS as trade collateral considering the events of last year, not what anyone wants but a strong possibility.

Is Polson contracted? Thought he was out of contract at the end of this year.

That list sounds about right to me.

Maybe Kennedy, Macreadie and Owies get another year, but it's hard to see the other guys staying on the list.

The other thing to consider is that it's not just Teague.

It's about the team as a whole, and how they feel they're placed.

Last year we were sh*te, we got smashed semi-regularly, we lost more close games than we won. We sacked our coach, the new guy told the boys to have some more fun, and the players turned it around a bit.

This year, we didn't get smashed by anyone, we won more close games than we lost, and it wasn't until the end of the second last round of the year that we dropped out of calculations for finals. In a year where our coaching and suport staff got cut back, the players were getting paid less, they were living out of suitcases and training on fairways, and we didn't play a single game at home after R1. For a team that was only just starting to drag itself off the bottom of the ladder, this year held a lot of potential for us to fall apart.

I'm still disappointed at the reaction of the players after the Adelaide loss. That wasn't a side that actually thought finals were on the cards. Or if they did, they felt or were told whether they made it or not wouldn't matter in the big picture.

A couple of calculated acquisitions and another big preseason, and we should be right in the mix for a top 8 spot. And realistically, should be expecting to hold a top 8 spot for much of the year, not sneak in at the back end.

Looking at our age profile, from 2022 in particular we should be perennial finalists and genuine top 4 contenders.

By 2022 the bulk of our team/talent will be in the 22-28 year old age bracket - from Cripps/Doc down to Walsh and we would have moved past Kreuz/Simmo/Betts/Murphy in a complete changing of the guard.

We gave McGovern 5 years?? Surely not...

How do people not know this unless it was reported incorrectly from the get go?
I always had him down for the five years.

We sure are getting more than our fair share of names thrown into the bowl. :)
I'm happy with two players but if the third one is the right type, then all the better....not 5, not 10 players....just the right 3

EDIT: Re Polson - Not contracted.

BSOS will get another contract IMO. Key position player who has showed signs at both ends. Owies will get another as a Category-B. Betts I'm not sure. Polson and Kennedy are both out of contract and won't be getting new ones IMO.

I always thought it was 3, my humble apologies...

It’s a ridiculous contract to have given him, no one would change my mind on that. And before anyone asks, I wasn’t keen on getting him to start with

He looks like he could be a match winner but delivers nothing

But no one has really been allowed to play that specific role

If you compare Betts to Fisher, Fisher's averages are similar this year.

Unless we bring in a suitable replacement, it won't be an area of decline of we had to use fish in that role

I'd like to think that Fisher can move back into the midfield. Thats where he has played his best footy.

Fisher and Dow are the two players that add another dynamic to our midfield when they're at their best.
It's the type we need and not a slow midfielder.

We really have to get Stocker fit and firing for next year.
Why would we go and get a Graham, when we should have a better version here already?

How do we know he’s better ?

If he's not we made a huge mistake for the player we rated @ #6 in the 2018 draft. :)
Look, it will be his third year next year and he looked very good in the midfield to me via the pre-season. Absolute bull.

I haven't watched a lot of The Tigers, but Graham has rarely impressed me.
He's averaging 13 touches a game this year across plenty of games.
Maybe he just looks better to some being in a good team.

He's just not the type we need....to me..

Fisher...looking stronger....he is AFL grade.....
I also hope he will be back in midfield/floating forward maybe 50/50 ...he cannot get ragdoll dumped tho...he has to bulk even further
Otherwise opponents will brush him off as joke
