I have a question.

Patrick Cripps has averaged above 23 disposals every year of his career except his first (when he played 3 games) and this season. If you remove his first two seasons, he has averaged .1 of a disposal under 25 disposals a game or more over 4 seasons. In his last two seasons (2018, 2019) Patrick Cripps has averaged 29.6, and 28.1 disposals, 6.3 and 6.2 tackles, and 7.7 and 8.4 clearances.

This year, he has averaged 20 disposals per game, 4.9 tackles, and 6.2 clearances. Cripps is a ball magnet that - for a single year - hasn't found the ball.

Given this, how can you justify the idea that Cripps will not bring an improved performance next year?
Did you multiply this year by 1.2, since the games are 20% shorter? Think it needs to be considered when comparing years for disposals...

Average less in shortened quarters - .. but yes if his goal kicking improves to 60% there is significant upside

Is there any real possibility graham would come to us instead of going home to Adelaide -- if he wins a second premiership think he hard to stop him going to Adelaide than us

... which, while true, does not account for a nearly 33% reduction in possession between two seasons.

He's gone from averaging 28 disposals to averaging 20; that's more than a 20% reduction.

He's clearly played hampered. Think you're being a mite unjust.

He has had an off year, with 20% more game time it would be 24 disposals, 12% below long-term average. It happens, we were pretty lucky he became a star a lot younger than most players... Swings and roundabouts.

I just don't think significant (word I used ) upside will be found in cripps-- unless he finds pace he has never had - yes if he plays like 2019 we will be better for it but significant I not so sure - and how he plays with his history I expect him to play his career carrying a certain amount of injury

So if list sizes get reduced to 38 and given that you need to select 3 players in draft/trades, how many do we cull. Seems to be around 11/12 by my math. Is there anyone who has an idea

If they cut list sizes to 38, they'll either lower or scrap the minimum draftees.

Isn't it 5 minutes less time-on per game quarter? That's a 25% reduction, so the multiplier would be 1.33x.

His averages are fine, but he's played every game in a stupid fixture run, and he really shouldn't have been (none of our players should have been, really).

16 mins instead of 20, so 20% - agree with your points

Ok so that's 1.25x, taking his comparative average to 25. Factor in that he picks up steam as the game goes on due to his size, and there's virtually no difference.

But you can see how worn down he's been, though not alone there. Has also been less consistent.

Why was Simmo told to retire but Eddie and Gov get chance after chance. Doesn't make sense to me and only way I can justify it is favouritism.

Please don't offer Levi another contract. There has to be better in the state leagues.
Ill let everyone in on a secret.

For every 1 good game Levi had played in his career, he has played 10 stinkers.

That is not an over statement.
Try this instead: Levi is the only forward who played all 17 games. Next best are Betts, Martin and Gibbons with 15.

Teague was unwilling to get creative to give him a rest. Not a world beater, and I wanted him cut years ago, but our entire system of placing pressure on the opposition backline and midfield has been garbage tier most of the year, and it's put pressure on him and McKay perhaps the most.

Personnel in delivering that has been an issue, particularly higher up the ground.

Never suggest Ahern, but if BSOS does get delisted, I would also move Goddard on and take Durdin as a DFA on the rookie list

Ive never noticed Durdin, but I remeber him having big wraps early, where has it gone wrong, why has he failed? He’s getting cut by a club that’s down the bottom, not one at the top.

Type of player I would like the club to target, preferably with speed, but at the very least, footskills. Number one need

Williams, Fritsch, Zac Bailey, Witherden, Houston, Perryman

These are the type that would make us better

Specific needs, I would offer Chol 5 years on $500K. Perfect replacement for Levi, forward/ruck, kid has freak ability

Cheap option/draftee KPD
Can’t pick any holes in those targets.

Why can’t we pick them from the draft ourselves🙄

Cripps becomes better when the opposition divert their attention to Walsh and Kelly/Williams.. instead of knowing that if they shutdown our #9 we are basically cooked.
