Higgins please - assuming he's recovered OK from that brain surgery he had...we need a genuine small forward who is a goal-kicking threat.

None of the others really excite me that much and probably aren't as good as Butler.
Hunt's speed interests me and I wouldn't say no...could be a weapon and something we need in our F50. Though I don't really recall him kicking many 'crumbing' goals or snaps around the corner...mostly running back to goal in a straight line or kicking goals from set shots.

Yeah, Hunt isn't a great player, but he would add genuine speed. And a new club might be the ticket to improvement.

Wouldn't mind him, especially if we miss on Saad.

You wouldn't think he'd cost much...3rd rounder at most. But he's no guarantee to really improve our team or even be a consistent best 22 player...it's taking a punt and hoping we can unlock some of his ability and utilise his strengths.

But i guess many people would have said the same about Butler this time last year.

This is the biggest joke yet by the AFL - "Clubs are still waiting on a decision from the AFL on list numbers for next year"
Apart from making it hard for clubs, what about the players lively hood and future?
Seriously pathetic and the fact the AFL think it's all good and well to drag it on, makes it even a bigger disgrace.
As previously stated, these list change affects us as a club more than anyone else and more importantly with the last 12 months playing restrictions/development.
I really hope the 'players association' finally earns there money and stands firm here and tell the AFL to f@#k off - we are keeping the current list sizes!!!!

That's probably what they're doing now, along with arguing for no contract reductions, which is possibly why this thing is taking so long. Multiple parties with differing opinions and interests, plus the legal issues surrounding existing employment contracts, etc.

But yeah, it'd be handy to know before FA/trade period starts...

The AFL have to be commended to have hobbled together the season, kept all on board, from sponsors down, and gotten through a pandemic in pretty good shape.

Now they must navigate the most complicated financial disruption, on behalf of the clubs, ever in its history.

But, wait no, you need certainty, right now, so you can feel better about what exactly Surrey?

Clubs survival is more important then the players imo. It would be a shocking position for players to be in but making the right decision is a lot more important then making a quick one. People all over the country are in the exact same position to the players hanging on waiting for a decision to be made.

Anyone heard whats happening with Harrison Macreadie ?
We're basically waiting to see if he's still on the list next year.

Personally, I'd like to see him get another year and if he can stay on the park we might get a bit more of an idea about his long term prospects. With BSOS & Goddard gone you'd think he's a little more likely to stay, with our only KPDs now being Weitering, Jones & Casboult as backup, then the likes of Marchbank, Plowman & Gov who could at a pinch have a crack, but are more 3rd tall (or smaller) type players.

Terrible ball user. the reason why they had to move him out of the backline and he is a limited forward who does well in wins but not so in loses where he doesn't get to use his pace to run into open goals.
Agreed, stay away from Hunt. We will all lose hair watching him and casboult lining up 15m out directly in front!

Somewhat off topic but was just checking out lachlan scholl. He went 2 spots before Finbar with our first post stocker pick. In retrospect it feels like they were going scholl and a disappeared at the last minute. Hence Finbar.

If you really want to torture yourself we gave the Sholl pick away for a future 5th rounder and the Finbar pick

I mean if you can let everyone else know what the go will be with Covid next year I’m sure we’d all appreciate it, clearly you know.

How can you not understand how complex this is? Will there be fans? Will they have to condense the season? Will there be hubs again? What happens to sponsorship? How do membership numbers look? Do clubs already have over 40 players contracted next year? Then what?

As for the AFLPA, how can they dictate anything regarding list sizes? Do they stump up the cash to get the extra list spots?

Better to wait and be comprehensive rather than put out a half baked plan

Thats an easy one to answer - the salary cap is what it is, every player earns a percentage of that salary cap. If the salary cap decreases, everyone's salary decreases by their percentage. But we know the higher earned players dont want to give up their big $$$ and would rather sack some of their teammates.
