If you are looking for his worst run of form
It 6 goals from his last 7 games .85 goals a game. 10 goals from the last 8.
At a guess I would imagine it’s because he is getting more attention.
Either way he is most likely going to be an AA and at the price they paid it is a huge success.
Teams have had a good look at the way the Saints play and aren't pushing up as high defending against them only to be beaten back to goals. They aren't kicking as many goals from inside 20 as they were in the first half of the season and there scoring efficiency has dropped. This has made life a little harder for Bulter

The words 'At the price they paid' are doing the work there.

I've had a quite singular argument throughout this thing, since he became available and while we've been getting beaten and beating ourselves for not taking him. I am so completely genuinely sick of us getting hit for players we let go or didn't take, especially when he wasn't even ours to begin with. This isn't a missed draft pick or a player who was on our list at some point, this is a bloke we chose not to make an offer and pay 500 a year for. He's a bloke who has played some sparkling footy - both before and after his trade - and has stunk it up for games on end, because - and I've said this before - he is a form player. He has good patches, and bad patches; his best is like his first 10 games, upper echelon small forward territory. His bad patches are VFL or lower level.

If he's AA, it's because the other candidates for his position over the last few years - Castagna, Cripps, Papley, Greene, Betts, Cameron, Breust, Puopolo - have had shit years or been injured and he and Papley are the last ones standing; you can only beat who you beat, though. It's not been a good year for goalkicking; less mistakes due to the shortened quarters, so less turnovers and less opportunists goals outside of gameplans specifically designed to provide them.

He'd have been a better option onfield than Betts, but that's not saying a great deal. Betts' second half was sub par.

Even if we only added Williams and Saad or Graham, the trade period is a pass. If we added or substituted merret or kelly as well as a moneyball small forward- it is a virtuoso performance.

Having landed Williams without having to dispose of any draft currency, the trade period is already a massive win.

Big tick for Austin.

When the Williams deal goes through, it's the equivalent of adding a top 10 pick to your list for nothing.

I don't see it.
Much sooner put the work and opportunity into Honey
Narkle was a pick in the 60s for Geelong. Wont cost much. We need competition for small forward spots. Richmond were blessed with several. Let Narkle fight for a spot with Honey . Even chase Jack Lonie to make it interesting. One small forward on our books is not enough.

No, not yet.

When you've got players in your starting 22 that wouldn't be getting a game in any other team, it means your list isn't quite there.

We're on the right track though.

Which players? :)

Backs - Docherty Weitering Plowman Marchbank Williamson Newman
Mids - Cripps Setterfield Walsh Fisher SPS Wiliams ECurnow Gibbons Newnes
Forwards - McKay CCurnow Martin Casboult

There's 18 players for starters an it's a little unfair to drop in the younger players just yet, but every team has them; TDK, Kemp, Dow, Stocker, Philp, Honey.
Best 22 players aren't always the best players but ones that fit into jigsaw puzzle.

Revenue from finals will be known, we will hopefully have a better idea of the success of our efforts in halting the second wave in Melbourne, we aren’t going to be less informed in a months time.

Not to mention that the AFL made significant layoffs themselves. There’s less people than before performing more work. The notion that they’re being negligent in delaying making this decision is wrong to me.

I know it’s not popular to take the AFL’s side but they’ve got a heap of sh*t on their plate
Well then they need to get Gold Coast off there plate. 😁

Narkle...is...not...a...forward, anymore than Cuningham or Fisher are.
Sure he may find himself a spot ahead of those two possibly.....and then possibly not.

Let's no start recruiting depth players. It's not a good ploy.

Polson and McGovern played round 18. Do you think either of them would get a game in any other side?

That's not to say they can't make it, but on current form, would another team have them in a starting 22?

Keep in mind the reason why I said 30+ is because I'm accounting for both injuries and competition for spots.

Not to mention having players like Lang and Moore play senior games this year too.

No doubt we've got some promising developing players, but I wouldn't be classifying them as competitive just yet. They certainly try their best though.

We're basically waiting to see if he's still on the list next year.

Personally, I'd like to see him get another year and if he can stay on the park we might get a bit more of an idea about his long term prospects. With BSOS & Goddard gone you'd think he's a little more likely to stay, with our only KPDs now being Weitering, Jones & Casboult as backup, then the likes of Marchbank, Plowman & Gov who could at a pinch have a crack, but are more 3rd tall (or smaller) type players.
Yea I was wondering as he wasn't amongst the first to be cut, but is only contracted for this year.
Would also like to see him get a run at it as we do need another bigger type down back for back-up

Are you suggesting some sort of camp? I heard Collective Mind is a new thing these days, what are your opinions on that. They might re-wire our players brain.
Are you suggesting our coaching, board and football department knows what it takes to win and can set high enough standards?
Are you a club backslapper who thinks everythings ok and our players want it enough?
Do you think our assistant coaches are setting high enough training standards?
Do you think our players gut run both ways?
Do you think they stick enough tackles?
Do you think our players turn off for full qtrs and give up 5 goals because they are complacent, self satisfied and not desperate enough?
Do you think leading questions with implied answers are a means of distorting facts and a posters representation.

But we could do this with every team...and I never mentioned any of those players you've brought up.

I'm not the LM and if we take Narkle, there'll be a better reason for doing so, than I can put forward....but from a distance....we don't need him.

The fact is they've played games at the top level this season, so they have to come into the discussion.

Woah dude, I am just asking what the club should do, don't have to go full bad-cop. You haven't provided any suggestion.

How the hell are Geelong into so many players, Higgins, Crouch, Jeremy Cameron and the latest Viney how can they have room in there cap for players of the calibre of these guys, it’s just bewildering are they paying there players in Monopoly money or what.

Do we really need Wines though?

Would rather us look to add more pace around the ground.

I think we should do both. We have done so with the Williams acquisition don't forget and are heavily into Saad.

People (accurately) bang on about how Cripps needs support, but when a proven, young inside bull with leadership qualities gets floated it's all about pace?

You won't get any constructive suggestions, all you will get is an endless list of things that are meant to be wrong with the Carlton Football Club.If
you actually point out anything positive then you're a cheerleader.
