Zerohanger is garbage and footywire usually just defaults to a 2 year deal unless it's explicitly laid out publicly to be something else.Footywire and Zerohangar has it ending this season.

I thought McGovern signed a 5-year deal?
More years than possessions per game.can confirm McGovern was signed on a too many year deal.
Yes...great observation. I believe it to be the case of a quality player trapped playing down back in a midfielders body and mindsetIs there something wrong with sps. Is he not happy with the club. Is he homesick. Is he injured
I don't think SPS was setting the world alight as a midfielder, could be wrong but he usually got low possessions and played about 2 really really good games each year.Yes...great observation. No doubt SPS will be on the trade table and maybe the WA teams might nibble but he is probably not worth alot. Think this will be his last season as a Blue.As a young developing mid in a sh*t midfield, that was acceptable(ish).
Ultimately though, to come into the seniors this week, refreshed after a game off, he should have been covering the ground and getting into positions for his teammates to use him.
He's played 77 senior games. I was absolutely staggered at his complete lack of presence. How do you get 5 touches playing off half back, as a player who is considered to be a very good ball user? His teammates should be looking for him, and he should be finding some space. Even cheap possies while we're switching the play.
I kinda hope there's something going on, because if there's not, then there's no excuse.
Think we need to play him on-ball for the remainder of the year if he's fit. Let him hunt the ball at stoppages. If he's still struggling to impact at that point, I'd be seriously considering using him as trade collateral. See if we can con Freo into a straight swap for Cerra.

It’s official
He's not worth one first rounder, at least not one as high as we'll have.I've been thinking about this all week...
and after a long, deep thought process I've come to the conclusion that Papley is not worth TWO 1st rounders...
Our biggest issues are impact players.IMO a lead up small forward is the least of our concerns, particularly when dealing in early picks, the last two weeks should cement that our ball movement & defence of small/medium forwards are presently our biggest issues.
