Surely he’s not supposed to give up front spot?

They don’t imo as they are different situations.
I’ve always seen holding the opposition ruckman out with an arm as free kick.
Whereas every second throw in a ruckman has the back position held out by the one in front.

Lynch will continue to snipe players because he knows he'll get away with a slap on the wrist. If he was still playing for the Suns, there's no way he wouldn't get suspended.

Watching Butters be a match-winner today must burn for a few on here given we picked Jones over him. However, swap the two and Jones could very well be playing as well as Butters is, he has the talent after all, and there's no way Butters would be performing to the level he is if he was with us.

Is there a reason why Will Gould hasn’t played for Sydney yet? Fitness still an issue?

Too short to be a true KPF, too slow to be a small/mid defender. Not a good enough mark to be an interceptor.

Glad we didn't draft him.

Big lump who woukd dominate State League Footy but not agile enough for AFL.

They were most definitely not similar. At all. Butters is quick becoming the best of the draft outside the elite 8. I actually rate him higher than Rozee. Jones wouldn’t go top 30 if the draft was re-done.

As always about 90% of game day performance is between the ears. We are a shit show currently with no cohesion or confidence. This year is a write off and maybe a reset over summer will help but I think the whole club needs refreshing from top down.

There is no doubt our development and overall environment is atrocious right now but I'm still not so sure if we swapped the two we would get the same results. Hamil has found a way to show plenty of glimpses and was in the same environment as Ned and Jones.

Jones has shown enough glimpses too.

We've always had a habit of developing defenders well. McPherson and Sholl also look good. Our midfield development, however, has been atrocious since Sloane/Danger. Any mid we draft gets shunned to the HF flank and never gets any continuity to develop there. It happened with Gooch who will end up delisted at the end of this year, it's happened with Poholke (let's see how he goes for the rest of the season), and Jones has also struggled to find the ball at all due to a mixture of confidence, structure and personnel.

I still believe jones will fit into top ten of 2018 draft. He was picked for not what he will bring in year one or two even. He was picked for tools he has and his ceiling most important factor. Picked as a kid amongst boy men. Needs time develop physically to mix it up with men. A lot of supporters will look silly once he has developed and dominates afl. Hamish picks kids with high ceiling not those ready season one ( classic examaple serong looking good but ready day one and maybe at same level in ten years ) its only because we r so shit we r trying fast track him like we r McAsey ( really should not as kpd be playing afl for two years as they need develop body to play against big boys but again trying fast track him given our situation ). If u don’t believe it look at 2018 photo of 2018 draftees look at odd one out jones looks like a kid amongst boy men. He will be special. You do know if we didn’t take him Geelong would have and their recruiter is no hack either. He is going be v special just needs time games and play mid continuity. We will reap rewards.
