wowee

according to afltables his 2003 stats were the following

3 games 0 kicks 0 handballs 0 marks 3 tackles 1 free kick against

his time on the field was 30% 2% 18% respectively
Yeah right, I couldn’t find the time on ground stats.

There's a big chance that if we perform well against Richmond that we'll decide that the last block of games - competitive efforts vs Geelong & Richmond + three wins - is what the group is capable of.

That's the normal. The first dozen games were the aberration while we were getting used to the new game plan.

Therefore no need for major change. Mackay stays, B Crouch re-signs, Walker plays on, Hartigan stays, Kelly first choice.

Rock on

This is likely. Plus a couple of 2nd round quality trades and we should be challenging the lower reaches of the 8. As far as I know, our mission statement to play finals most years hasn't changed. Why wouldn't our strategy continue to align with that. That would logically be the aim of our version of a rebuild.

Has a #1 pick ever won a flag ? The two that come to mind are Hodge and Banfield, but both of these #1s were traded, (i.e the team finishing bottom did not draft them)

fu** pick#1 let's win 4 in a row and pick#2 is still good

I see your sarcasm.....but

Tex has been poor when playing in that block. And we were better when he didn't.

To be fair, DABM's sarcasm is always easy to see.

We have a bunch of kids who have entered our best 18 to 25 players this year, surely the biggest change seen in any club. Plus Nicks seems to clearly have the belief in doing it his way.

Some people will still see this as a glass half empty.

Lol biggest change seen in any club.

We are bottom, won our last 3 games and for the final game of the year we rush in those every green youngsters that are rebuilding the AFC - Talia, McKay & Walker.

We have won the last 3 and we still feel compelled to play these 3 for the final game. Its like we're on the eve of the finals, bizarre.

Why not see how our youngsters go against one of rhe best teams, Nicks is just the next in line working to the approved AFC selection policy.

Just interested in your thoughts about offloading Sauce, Keath, Greenwood and Betts last year? Was CEY in that too or was he the year before?

Already moved on Atkins and Gibbs this year.

Sure, the club hasn't been trustworthy at bringing in youth in the past, so I get people's cynicism, but everyone should be holding fire for the moment, its not definite either way, but its looking pretty good with the youth strategy so far with the amount of debutants and inexperienced guys and how well they've gone.

Not like you to go with the pessimistic outlook, I also didn’t realise keeping Brad if it doesn’t net pick 2/3 was a bad thing.

Might just recycle one of my posts from yesterday:
Schoenberg, Sholl, Stengle, McAdam, ROB, Butts, Himmelberg, Keays, Jones, McPherson and Fog are all 25 or younger (majority 23 and under) and have played less than 50 games (majority under 30). These guys are all regulars in our side over the last couple of months. That’s basically half our side and doesn’t include the Crouch brothers or Laird who are all still 24-26 as well.

Nicks has had a great start at turning over the list this season and as the likes of Hartigan, Tex and Mackay move on there are more and more opportunities for spots next season.

How could anyone be disappointed with the list turnover we have seen this season? If Worrell not getting a game is the only gripe I’d say that’s pretty damn good.

It's the only tone he knows how to use.

No argument for me on Tex. Even DMac

But Talia is part of our next two to three years. He plays. But Harto should have been out instead of Butts.

Part of Butts development should be playing as many games as possible with Talia.

Hartigan playing is a waste and I don't even think he is best 22 in terms of team balance.
