My lawyer of choice is this guy.

Never lost a case loved it

But that's the point.
Footy players aren't surgeons, they kick a footy all day and make more than people who save lives.
If they're so salty over a stupid camp that lasted for 2? weeks, clearly they are living in some sort of deluded world.
Spoilt brats they are.

At least theyve pissed off now and looking forward to a pretty good season.
You sound like one of those people who resents a person for being successful.

I resent spoilt brats who think they're more important than they actually are.
As much as we all luved Eddie, he became one of those brats towards the end.

Having said this, he played a big role in pissing Burton and Campo away from the club, so it all worked out in the end.

You keep repeating the phrase "spoilt brat" but he wasn't just given his job in the AFL. He earned it.

You keep repeating the phrase "spoilt brat" but he wasn't just given his job in the AFL. He earned it.

He earned his position on the playing list, had no right to tell the off field staff how to do their jobs.
He wasn't even in the leadership group...

And let's be honest, who actually has fun at their work, that's why it's called a job.
He should've done his job and stop the salty attitude.

If Ben Hart was half switched on, he would have listened to what Eddie was telling him ;)

You know the creators of Seinfeld very nearly gave him his own spin off show? I would have watched it for sure. Jackie Chiles is hilarious.

"lewd, lascivious, salacious, outrageous!"

Denny Crane vs Jackie Chiles

That would be some award winning TV right there.

Eddie is acting poorly since leaving, no need to keep bringing up the past. He was always going back to Melbourne at the end of his career, he just saw an opportunity a year earlier and realized he was not best 22 here anymore. Not being a walk in best 22 player contributed more to him leaving than the camp. In fact, with the main culprits gone (which Im sure he could see coming after the review), I don’t think the camp contributed at all to him leaving.

How has he been "acting poorly"? Provide some examples. I haven't seen him write anything about the club which was vindictive.

I think it's in rather poor taste to accuse Eddie Betts of lying about the camp, given the results of the review we just had.

Not accusing him of lying about the camp, but he did mention it again in an interview recently when there was no need, even if it’s a direct question just say ‘that’s in the past, I want to move on’.

If he saw a best 22 spot here in 2020, he would still be on our list.

Can you give me a specific quote you take issue with or is this some kind of Dennis Denuto "it's the vibe" kind of argument?

The fact you think the camp had nothing to do with him leaving means you are accusing him of lying, just indirectly.

It’s an interview from a week or two ago, someone posted it on this board.

You don’t reckon being 34 and getting dropped a couple of times last year was a bigger factor? If he had stayed in 2020 he takes the spot of players like Stengle, McHenry or McAdam, the timing was right.

These are his quotes from an interview with the Age two days ago. I don't see anything here that bothers me, or makes me think less of him.

"I live in the moment. I like to move forward. I don't like to look back and when I look back it just drains you. It just drains the energy and I don't want to talk about it," Betts said.

"I can't agree or comment more deeply on it but that [camp] was one of the reasons or one of the main reasons why it was so hard to enjoy the footy," Betts said.

"You could just see everything was breaking down and you are trying to fix it, you are trying to make a change but then when you are not winning games you keep digging yourself into a deeper and deeper hole," Betts said.

"I am moving forward and putting it into my past now. Adelaide will always have a special place in my heart. I played finals. My sons could play father-son or my daughter play father-daughter there or at Carlton," Betts said.

I only saw snippets from the article which made it look worse, especially with the headline. I must admit I went and read the full article afterwards and the headline is very misleading! A lot of guesswork and adding 2 and 2 together to get 5 from the author.

Those are all of Eddie's direct quotes from the article. Which part annoys you?

Betts didn't write the article or the headline. I mean I don't blame you for loathing Vic journos but I don't know what that has to do with Betts.

Just killed his passion for the game

he literally said the camp was one of the main reasons he wasn’t enjoying his footy

what part of that is so hard for people to understand

None, but getting dropped twice last year and seeing the writing on the wall as a best 22 player contributes a fair bit too. His form was tapering off well before the camp.

He was happy to stay next year (from what I’ve been told by people close to the club), but an opportunity arose to get back to Melbourne a year early and play for his original club, so he took it. Can’t imagine he would’ve been going back if Bolton was still coaching either, just happened to align for him at the right time and the Crows were wanting to promote youth in 2020, so both parties were willing to deal.

I’d rather see Eddie play regular AFL in his last year, rather than a token game towards the end of the season.
