Considering Adelaide and Perth were the obvious choices from the get to for hubs, there's no way the VFl would agree to it. They'd rather play in Darwin than give SA or WA teams a taste of the advantage Vic teams have every year.

Yes I realise we are paying part of his salary still, but that’s better than the full amount and taking games off the likes of Stengle or McAdam in a rebuilding phase. His mentoring of young indigenous players at our club won’t be exactly the same as if he was still playing here, but he also isn’t going to cut off the likes of McAdam, Stengle etc if they want advise.

The club has been criticized for holding onto senior players for too long and are now criticized for going aggressive with moving on senior players. This is of course a Crocmedia vendetta against the club (as many posters have alluded to in other threads), but these articles should still be called out regardless.

Can you imagine Eddie if Collingwood finish top, then Brisbane get to play all home finals even if they finish 8th! Eddie would demand the game be played on the GC just so Brisbane didn't have such a home ground advantage

Eddie cried in the '00s when his team lost those GF's to the Lions.

A clear Home ground advantage let alone playing in their home state is massive in a GF. Tigers and Pies have had it good for all of their GF wins this century.

Hawks the last team to play their Grand Final at home outside the G, tore the Eagles a new one in it too.

Under NO circumstances should a grand final be played in Adelaide.

There is only one team that has the remote possibility of benefiting of that and it isnt us.

For the sake of my sanity and anxiety I need the Grand Final to be either in Perth (for the Eagles) or the GABBA for the Lions.

I think it comes down to:

Port are around the mark so they wont want to give them hga in finals.
The sa govt wouldnt allow hubs here
Chance to promote the game in a non footy state by hosting the gf
They dont like us anyway

Any/all of them will do. Theyre still holding out hope of playing it at the G ffs

Eddie was always moving back "home" to Victoria.

Yes not born there and spent time here and in WA. But Melbourne is his home now.

He just got there a year earlier, allowing us to play a kid in his spot.

Seeing there is escalation in Vic and sliding into NSW it’ll get to Queensland no doubt.

Yep. Bizarre thing to try and pot us for when it's so easily disproved. Plus it's one of the few correct decisions we've made among an absolute sea of terrible ones.
