Today maybe not as much as you want, but in the future, it looks promising, Also it's the ability to use these other sports to Ease the Pressure on the Soft Cap, shared resources and expertise,I don’t study the books but I am pretty sure the videos, esports and baseball ** do not generate a lot of profit if any. And if they did I am sure that profit would be re-invested back into where it came from. (**I see AFLW as part of our core business)
If there is an equipment cap in the future I am sure the AFL will close the shared resource loophole pretty quick.
Spend every cent then some to win games of football. Success brings dollars, I am not saying don’t look to invest elsewhere but get your core business right first.
And much as some like to think otherwise the Football department is separated from the entertainment and media sections. The Football Department is not short of funding far from it.
But the Crows cannot rely on memberships and the current Sponsorships deals to keep it viable, To get the best sponsorship deals they need to offer something different, and cross over is one way of getting that.
So I will ask you the same question I ask others, what should they do look at alternate long term ventures or sit back and do nothing but spend all their money on the football department and pay the 100% tax, and in 5-10 year time be broke,
