I have always had Blight , Ebert and Robran equal because I never wanted to show my Sturt bias but Baggie is my all time favourite
It’s funny, dad was a staunch Norwood supporter (as am I) but we lived closer to Unley Oval than The Parade. Most of my friends and their families were Sturt supporters.

And the weirder part, dad would take me to the best games on the weekend, regardless of who was playing. He’d rather go and watch Port vs Glenelg than Norwood vs Woodville.

So as a kid, I largely only saw a mixture of Norwood, Sturt, Glenelg and Port games.

Anyway, I saw a lot of Bagshaw as a kid. I am still amased by how versatile he was. Never saw Robran play (too young .. you old farts)

Further to that, it still makes me vomit watching Ebert lace out Tim Evens

I rate Robran at #1
If you saw Bagshaw should have seen Robran same era

OK here's a discussion in terms of style, not a career comparison just who a player reminds you of
Robran = Fyfe - mercurial & polished
Bagshaw = Burgoyne - class & poise
Blight = Martin - mercurial with strength
Ebert = Coniglio - elite skills & running
Davies = Grundy - versatile & class
Cornes = T Greene - could do amazing things and you always wanted to knock his head off :)

Probably start with
Ebert == Fyfe strong around the contest,powerful breakaway

Way before my time but how does Bob Hank rate?
He lived above my grandparents at west lakes, very nice bloke.
He was my Poppa’s favourite player. Lindsay Head was Dad’s favourite. I’m not sure anyone can split them in terms of the two greatest from West Torrens. At least Post WW2.

In terms of stats, you'd have to include Ken Farmer up there as one of the greatest South Australian footballers of all time and the greatest goal kicker the game has ever seen.

And both Robran and Ebert far far better foot skills than Fyfe. When it comes to football polish especially IMO Fyfe plays nothing like Robran, much more in the Ebert mould minus the polish.

Living in Pt.Augusta as a kid and attending Spencer Gulf footy games with a father who played for Central Augusta I reckon there's a fair chance I saw Barrie Robran even before you did playing for North Whyalla in the A grade team as a 17 year old before he ventured down to the Roosters?

Yep got me covered, I find it very hard to compare a modern day player with a Robran, for starters Robran was gifted either side of his body

Talking pure skill d jarman is just about as good as it gets. He was the best field kick i have seen. T lockett is also one of the best kicks but being a vic is disqualified from this discussion :D
