He forgot Toumpas 😉

Its just stupid talking about the draft back in 2009, where drafting has become so elite now in the last 3-4 years.

If the opportunity to grab Picks 1 and 2 is on the table you take it, its basically all about probabilities. Sure Pick 15 as a random example may end up being the best player in the draft from this year, but Pick 1 or 2 does give you the better chance of picking elite talent. Thats why some Clubs that have bottomed out have had prized drafts and have been able to develop their list.

True
You do still get epic fails
Look at the class of 2014 nothing really there at all that screams star (unfair on McCartin due to concussion issues) he has the tools and talent
For every Matt Rowell and Luke Hodge there is a Jack Watts

There's an incredibly small chance of catching it outdoors. The indoor weights training sessions are a bit more concerning.
There's a good chance if he's tackling you and sweating in you as was shown on the news. There is no chance of the bombers playing for 2 weeks minimum if the health authorities over there are serious. Based on the covid results in vic that's debatable

So let's say authorities decide that 8 Essendon first choice players have to self isolate for 14 days, those players won't be able to train and Essendon will likely be be unable to win the next 2 weeks due to missing all those players.
In turn the two teams that Essendon play will automatically have a win. Also Melbourne will be affected due to having to play essentially two matches in a week in the coming future.

Therefore a net result of 2 teams with a massive leg up and 2 teams with adveresely affected.

How's that for a fair competition.

I reckon they'll just postpone affected games if any other players test positive before Tuesday. They're dealing with it on the run but sounds like Gil has indicated we've got the rest of the year to play out the season.

Not what they said on the radio just before and what's on afl.com.au

That’s pretty much what Gill has said plus no definitive dates for finals so if a range of catch up rounds are needed they can squeeze them in.

Imagining Port Power ringing Gill in the next few days while he’s scrambling to work out how to keep the season alive in a pandemic where a player has tested positive and games are being postponed and contact tracing being done to understand the spread, leading to renegotiated broadcast arrangements and a floating fixture change at the last minute ... to give them their little baby gates petition.

Don't know why they don't just have a light shade of teal instead of white for a version of the PB guernsey - would shut up Maguire (who's said he'd accept that).

Gil’s and the pay packets of the other execs will be determined by their ability to complete the season - he will do anything to make sure it happens.

AFL should relentlessly investigate Essendon to figure out how this happened.

Premiership points and draft picks should be stripped. McKenna suspended for the season, coaches suspended, the works.

Only fair

I would send this to Tommy Browne on Twitter but he has blocked me......

Think we both were trying to trade up after night 1 of the draft to get him
In the end we get Schoenberg so not all bad but still I was shocked he drifted so far
Kemp was the other I was hoping we’d trade up for
What I was trying to say is Sam Berry is the same type of kid.

He’ll help your team rebuild its character.

We forget how good Gibbs was, now that he's fallen off a cliff. NO ONE thought he'd suddenly stop knowing how to footy.
Don't get me wrong. He was a very good player. But many players fade away to shadows of themselves around late 20s early 30s. Look at Thommo. Gifting two first rounders was always going to be a huge gamble. I'm not sure the Crows really had a plan other than just to get him.
