Hundreds? How are players getting tested twice a week and staying in a hotel any danger to the public?
If they stay in their hotel, and don't pop out for coffee/burger/drunken spree.

And any hotel workers or security guards don't try to make contact with them

i don't want to see any victorians or any adelaide crows players playing in our great state for the rest of the year.
St Kilda playing here Monday 20th July

I don't understand how St Kilda can travel from Melbourne to GC, and play Freo next week? I thought it was a 2 week quarantine there too? In WA quarantining teams can play each other, but Freo in GC???

If there’s going to be a hub here (now unlikely but it’s what my post was in relation to), then it would be similar to what was up in QLD with 6 teams, add to that officials and support staff, that’s nudging up in the hundreds.

The amount of covid testing players and staff undergo (and have been having) probably allows for a calculated risk exemption to be made.

Other state governments are giving exemptions to footy players, they still have to quarantine away from public but can play their footy game still, SA Gov said no exemptions

The fixture has to be redrawn because Richmond couldn't go to Queensland to play West Coast. New fixture has St Kilda going to Queensland to play Freo??? Have the rules now changed, or doesn't this make sense?

This whole redraw was because they couldn't go to Brisbane.

Crows playing away all season ideal - Very likely lose most of them and finish bottom with pick#1

and then we can always put the asterix on the season by saying we only have 1 home game in round 1 and travelled the rest -
Any players with a family in Adelaide come back home.

Players with minimal ties to Adelaide (i.e. close familiy) stay on the road.

If you have kids in Adelaide come home.

When we are anchored to the bottom, what us the point of guys like Tex, Sloane, Gibbs etc playing on.

Ideal scenario to play kids.

I dont want Port Adelaide players playing in our great state either, but I agree with you also. One issue at a time.

Couldn't or wouldn't?

Richmond weren't going into a hub, they were just flying in.

The thinking is probably that the Vic teams will be in the hub long enough before the match that they will be tested appropriately before the match and with enough buffer after leaving Victoria

Apparently not one single AFL club is playing in its home state in R6. In many cases that's understandable, but there are a few fixtures which are just plain bizarre.
  • Both Brisbane & Gold Coast are playing Victorian teams, in Sydney.
  • GWS is playing Port, and Sydney plays Richmond, in Queensland.
WTF is going on with those fixtures?

Surprised this made it through to the wicketleeper without being raised.

We have now in the AFL a new official equal first biggest loser. Absolute wasted career with literally zero highlights.

Most losses in V/@AFL games
208 - KADE SIMPSON :drunk:
208 - Kevin Murray
200 - Doug Hawkins
199 - John Rantall
196 - Paul Roos
195 - Nathan Jones

It's likely to break up the fixtures so that Brisbane and GC don't have too many "home" games and allow for flexibility. In playing the NSW hub teams they can tick a matchup off and then move into playing the QLD hub teams the following week
