Checked it out, most recent tweet is a solid analysis of Melb's kick in structures. Would love to read his take on our kick ins.

Adel: Set play from kick in is to play on, run 20m into right pocket then kick to right flank. Sometimes switches it up by running 15m into right pocket and kicking to right flank.
That because Brown keep taking them??

I know a lot of people criticize our kick ins, but not many teams do it that much differently. Most teams kick it wide to the flank the majority of the time except when they need to score quickly. The Crows do change it up occasionally and tbh our movement from defense the last couple of weeks had made up for our poor centre clearance work.

Melbourne appear to have a decent bunch of assistant coaches and even players, so how on earth have they won 8 of their last 31 games after tonight?

How did they make a prelim the bloody year we have their first round pick, despite being a sea of failure every year around it. Hmmph.

Is the spudness of he and McGovern a reflection of how bad our recruiting is?
Or a reflection of how bad those clubs development is? Or Reid knows how to sell a lemon?
They were both far better players during their time at the Crows, have fallen off a cliff since. Lever does have his ACL as a slight excuse, Gov has no excuse and is struggling not being the 3rd or 4th forward.

Their roles with us were perfect for them. Then they thought they were actually worth more than we wanted to pay. Melbourne and Carlton pony up. Lololololololololololol. Melbs and Carlton - Say no more.

Carlton are paying McGovern to take the 1st or 2nd best opposition tall defender whereas at the Crows he took the 4th best opposition tall defender after Walker, Lynch and Jenkin so he is being exposed. Lever's 2nd ACL is a big concern, losing agility.

What did Paul Roos have to do with Neil Craig ?
Maybe that's why Roos was successful :)
Any of his disciples have success?

Roos jagged a flag in 2005 and is seen as a doyen of coaching.

Maybe Longmire.

They were role players in our system, who haven't developed the way their club thought they would when given a bigger role. Gov as the cameo forward who just had to fly at everything and pressure at ground level while Tex and JJ took the big ticket defenders, Lever playing with Talia and Hartigan who took the same at the other end. Cameron came on at Brisbane when given a bigger spot in the forward line, Gov and Lever haven't at their clubs, you win some, you lose some.

You could argue the same for Keath at this point too, but what has also happened with him and Lever is they've gone from having the luxury of an all-star stopper like Daniel Talia next to them to being expected to do some of that defensive 1-1 work themselves and that wasn't what made them stand out when they were playing with us. Playing loose off a man and intercepting is probably one of the easier things to do in the backline, it got Brent Reilly into the 40 man All Australian side in 2012 and we all know that realistically he was a solid player at best and that rebounding, intercepting role made things a lot easier for him.

I'm confused, are Port really good again or are Melbourne being Melbourne again?

Dont be confused, Port are absolute flat track bullies. This is the real Melbourne we saw for most of this year.

There will be drinking the toilet water at Alberton tonight celebrating this win and with a bit of luck announcing sooner rather than later, another 2 years of Kenny.

Underrated outside of Adelaide how much better Talia makes other defenders - is our North Star. Saw someone on Collingwood thread suggesting they offer a first rounder for him. Wouldnt take it even though is very fair at his age because without him for the next two years we could well ship in the kind of scores that destroy confidence and development and lead to years languishing at the bottom.
