Murdoch is a cancer

1 - copy everything about the WCE
2 - profit
WCE benefited from a good deal with the WAFL. Flat rate to rent Subiaco. Collect the rent and let WCE thrive

SANFL on the other hand used us to provide revenue for their comp. Gouged us so they could try and thrive.

Calling lt now - season 2021 will be just as ramshackle, fixture- wise, coronavirus will last next year too

Not sure I agree with that, here in the UK we were in a 'lockdown' (nowhere near as strict as Victoria) from about April - End of June this year. The government won't do it again, unless things get really bad and even then it might only be localised lockdowns. Might not be crowds in AFL next year, but Victoria will be out of lockdown by the end of October this year and I really doubt it will happen to the same extend again.

Measures will be in place for a long time over the virus, but I don't think governments or the population have the impetus to stay in an indefinite lockdown - the virus just isn't deadly enough.

So Port should go back to back premiers then.

The 2020* Flag is theirs to lose.
It would be a failure from them to not win one flag in the next 2 years

Makes it easy to rebuild when you have access to top 5 picks for free year after year regardless of your ladder position
That's a simple and incorrect statement BACCS. I've had a look at who they got -
Heeney was for pick 17 under the AFL rules at the time, bonus to Swans.
Mills for pick 3 but it cost them so much in picks they couldn't match F/S Dunkle y, that's hardly "free"
Blakey, who has to yet show more than highlights, pick 10, about where their first rounder was anyway
This year they will have a high pick 2-5ish and that may or may not have to be used on Campbell depending on where other clubs rate him and bid on him

So Heeney is the only "free" hit Swans have had.

They also got the crap part of NSW when GWS appeared who got all of the more AFL friendly southern part of the state which produces good players every year.

So your statement is completely incorrect, love them or hate them, Sydney are a very well run and professional club operating in a non AFL state. Unfortunately our club off field is light years behind them. Last night shows how to do a rebuild, it's not done on "top 5 picks for free year after year", it's done with high quality decision making and good drafting. We need to take a good look at them to see how it's done!

Two thoroughly unlikeable teams going at it

I remember the first time Danger played for Geelong at AO, I thought we would all go for Port.

The thread showed our true colours, we hate the filth from Alberton.
