Any thoughts on how * approach their list. Do they go hard at the draft and look to bottom out again next year, or do they need to show competitiveness from round 1 for player retention?

Still a pretty young list. Reckon they will hit the draft hard for positions of need and try to bring in a key player or 2. Can see them going for a peter wright type to help in ruck with draper and kick goals. Will cycle out some more oldies over the next 2 years. Their team isn't terrible, just needs a bit of work in some areas.

I predicted this trade about three months ago, as it makes so much sense. Collingwood might prefer 2021 second rounder instead of 25.

If Carlton and * dont work out a trade, after the national draft Carlton must submit their salary cap intentions to the AFL before the PSD.
Basically telling the league what they intend to pay Saad.
Once Saad nominates for the PSD, that information is released to all 18 clubs and we can then choose if we want to pay it or not, provided we can which for us is no issue.

Cool thanks and that's what they intend to pay across the contract not just 21 when obviously they can just front end it

I'm indifferent with Cameron but prob be a no as reckon he will be part of a bidding war and reckon he won't be worth 1m plus anything less be keen. Although can't see Geelong overpaying * yes as would have a bit of cash avail.... would he want to go there... that would leave brown for the rest being Coll saints gws potentially west coast

There was Oliver unrest mentioned a couple of weeks back and then nothing...he is contracted so would again be wanting a high first rd which we aren't giving up unless they take brown...

A Cameron FA type should be our focus in 2 years. Not now.

My wish list for trade period apart from fair return for BB (hopeful) and Higgins (doubtful) is one of Wright/Mihocek and one of the young Vic guns returning home.

Add a couple of draftees, a decent run with injury and I reckon we’ll surprise many.

It can't be terrible they have recruited quite vigorously in past couple of seasons smith stringer Shiel to name a few! Thought they were top 4 contenders
