Has there been any indication of any kind that the Suns are interested in Brown? They have King in the role that Brown would play.

It wouldn't surprise me if that was the trade for Higgins if he goes to the Cats. A rumour that the Saints are having a sniff too. What have they got to offer?

yes, they are keen for him to take the #1 defender to let King develop with defender #2..has been mentioned in the media as one of 3 clubs keen.

I think they will be a deadly duo. Also bums on seats and the attraction of ripping a senior gun player off their biggest rivals suits Tony Cochrane/AFLHQ narrative. He’s also a ripper bloke and good with the Media. Not entirely sure how the vegan lefty greeny will dominate the Queensland hearts and minds mission, but you never know.

St.Kilda’s first pick is #58 from what I can gather, therefore the only realistic trade is 2021 R2 for Higgo, which I’d probably take - you?

In terms of what is best for us, The Suns being keen is a great thing. They are armed with picks and talented Vic kids that are gettable

“Rival clubs raised their eyebrows this week at North Melbourne's decision to place Brown on the table publicly. Others believe it will cost the Roos leverage at the bargaining table because he simply can't return to Arden Street.”

Got to question the negative spin really.
So we are supposed to believe that prior to us publicly shopping Brown around there were no negotiations going on between clubs and player managers at all. I feel pretty confident that the club would have tried all avenues and tactics to get the best return, for example dropping him to signal that perhaps he was gettible and then waiting to see if an offer came. Clubs have been using these tactics for years.

Advising members is called being pro active in terms of PR and trying to have some control of the narrative it has zero affect on a players worth.
As we all know the AFL media are so corrupt and biased that it’s just not worth even hoping for so sort of even approach toward our club. Going by the article comparison to our players Nankervis is worth an early second round pick, go figure.
let the scribes scribe with there poison pens and take it all with a grain of salt and more importantly have trust in Rawlings and Co.
Advised the members good PR? Garbage. Been in the media and other areas for more than a month that North were wanting to let BBB go. Members were the last people to be told by the club. They put the message out to soften the blow - too late. In terms of trust Rawlings and Co? We have no choice right now.

Ziebell I suspect would be handing over his captaincy title in 2021 unless he get back to top notch form. We cannot have Ziebell cunn8ngton and Dumont in the same team as that would make the team significantly slower.

Dumont is a two way runner and very consistent and at 25 is into his peak. Ziebell is injured and even at full fitness, his disposal skills are sh*t. Cunnington is too slow with suspect disposal skills and with the back injury, won’t get back to full fitness. Z and c are gone as early as 2022. Dumont should be given the captaincy as he’s of the right age and
Position plus he is relatively injury free.

IMO if we are playing for bottom 4 next year we'D likely be within rights to ask for a priority pick.

8th
15th
9th
12th
17th
15th (top end bottom 4)

This looks at nigh on the exact sort of example required for a PP.

That snapshot makes for horrendous reading and the worst we've ever been in my life time.

Saints have a first-round pick. Currently 14 I believe. I'd take that but the Saints would not make that deal. They might do Higgins plus 24 for 14.

When did we become The Suns' biggest rivals? Or are you implying that they are ripping him from Brisbane?

Any other club in our situation would have one this year.

Didn’t say they were the first Was making the point that a lot of work would have gon on before that point

We turned our back on their City.

They hate us, I doubt they hate Brisbane yet (maybeZorko). I might have added a bit of GST but their list of ‘rivals‘ wouldn’t be all that extensive.

St Kilda has pick 14.

so they do, nice work.

Well in that case Higgins + 2021 R3 (37) > 14 Or Higgins + 2021 R3 > 2021 R1.

If you understand how the mainstream media is reporting on trump would make this instantly much clearer. Trump must be seen as this mad, egotistical, selfish dictator hence there is legitamicy for the opponent never mind he is doing things America hadn't done for 20 years. Same thing for us, Rawling + Shaw is finally doing what needed to be done but didn't do for 20 years.

The negative spin on north is to affirm the existing notions, it would be like slapping yourself in the face if one start to put a positive spin. Only when we win a flag will it force the narrative to change and even then it would be North pinches a flag but are they real premiers? You have to continue affirm ation of the existing narrative even if its false. Players like nankervis must have higher value because he is from a premiership team hence must be better than brown from a bottom 2 team, saying otherwise is going against the mainstream regardless of the truth.

The current narrative they want to run is that north is a dysfunctional club in self destruct mode where in fact we are doing surgical repairs to quickly fix decades old issues. Also we dares to do what's needed and not what's expected. AFL and other clubs expect us to be an ameuter club that is irrelevant and in dire financial health that will soon collapse. It's sort of like an outrage that we dare to try and get better. Of course, the intial reaction would be look of shock, ahahahh they are doing what alhahahah they are crazy (2020). Next stage would be suspicion, i.e. will north's effort results in something sure not (2021, 22). Next stage would be downplaying our achievement in that North got lucky as we get into the finals in 2023. Finally when north gets near or achieves success (2024 - 2026), it would be met with outrage and denial in that north must have cheated or done something, there must be an inquiry how dare they. Knifes out would be a very good movie that narrates these sentiment.

Exactly what I said to my mate at the time re: Horne , his reply was that’s exactly why Adelaide would do the deal . But I will say this ... he’s a big footy nut and watches a tonne of u/18 footy , he’s also bit of a McDonald fan boy ... reckons he’s the next Tom Lynch .
Reckon he will be better than Tom Lynch.. Id be stoked if we could land the kid.. just keeping him would be difficult

Got it, so McDonald will be punching / pushing blokes from behind or the back of the head.

And some people on here actually don't want change - it's too uncomfortable - they prefer the mediocrity and all that comes with it.
There is a difference between having a garage sale to get rid of some stuff you don't want or usE and putting that same stuff in a pile and lighting it on fire.

Right now it is hard to tell which one we're doing.

Naturally people are a bit apprehensive.

Nothing been put on the fire at the moment that I had a use for so I'm ok with it all at the moment...I'm aware I have to clean out first before I can work out what my needs are and then go about acquiring
