Carlton are still crap. McKay, McGovern, Martin, Fisher, Betts at 35 and Charlie Curnow if he ever plays are barely a top 8 forward line. Still have no decent inside mids outside Cripps too.

Dodoro can make the deal happen but if they let him go its almost a concession by * that theyre not contending and that the list is not where it needs to be. Which then means hes basically putting himself under the pump for the **** up, WHICH we dont want.

They will be better next year, but I reckon they've gone too early for the load-up. Yeah, Williams and Saad will be good but they aren't coming cheap at the trade table. I don't speculate on picks as it's always more complicated than my understanding can fathom, but, like St.Kilda last year, I'm guessing the Blues will be trading themselves out of the business end of two drafts. Their list isn't good enough yet to handle that.
Obviously, these players make the the Blues better. They'd want to - 2.5 games and 15 percent off of 8th and 2 wins against finalists isn't exactly hammering on the door. And both have come from teams who have delivered way less than expectations. I can't see them catapulting the Blues up the ladder too quickly, and in the meantime it could be at the expense of developing the core of the list at the draft.

We are 100% on the same page there.
They have jumped too early once again, just like they did with the Murphy/Kruezer/Gibbs era.
It's simply not in their culture to undertake a proper youth development program. It's always been money & a short term mentality.
