A lot of people think that way but we are all going to be pleasantly surprised at how good Logan is. He may not have great endurance but his spoiling is elite and he has great closing speed so he can get the spoil in. The other benefit we get from doing this trade is we free up a lot of cap space which helps with FA's and cap space.
He plays about 40 metres off his opponent, Chol kicked 6 on him in the scratch match because he was playing no where near him trying to get kicks

If true then we should offer a 29 year old Carlisle for a 21 year old Constable as a straight swap. We have Logan Austin who can step into Carlisle's spot now he has recovered from his injuries.

Like I get you're all about bringing in kids but if we're swapping snake out we're doing it for a gun.

Austin is only 4 years younger than snake and unfortunately will not go close to replacing him.

I remember his all star game. He was so quick and looked a stand out at times. If you could work out how to use him well he could be a gun.
Where he'd fit in is the conundrum.
As a value pickup he'd be worth listing for a couple of years just to see what you can make of him.
Definitely worth a crack..

cooperg Is reporting that Constable wants out at Geelong. Surely we would entertain that, especially after we had a lean stance on Jack to go to them last year
With 3 first this year, and IMO the smart money being on Caldwell to the Cats, and Cooper Stephens taken last year, Charlie would be right to want to look elsewhere.

The only thing I would be cautious of is that he's ideally a rebounding back. He played that one incredible final in the midfield and was unbelievable but it's a pretty small sample size.

Yeah it'd be nice if he had a bigger sample size in midfield. He played several games in midfield last year and did look good in there (games with 10, 10, 6, 5 clearances) but it's still not a huge body of work in midfield. I think he would be really good in there with a proper run at it, but he's not a sure bet to come in and be a star mid.

I wonder what his price tag would be. 700-800 he could maybe demand from a club who is really keen?

He's a great half-back flanker which is the last type of player we need. We don't need another run-and-carry type out of defence, especially with Coffield and Clark blooming, if we're paying big bucks they should go straight in the engine room

Would be the same as what we did with Jones, he is now full time mid with us

Yeah I tend to think it would work well too. Williams is a hood contested player, can rack it up, has great acceleration and is a good kick. Has everything needed to play mid, just hard when they have Taranto, Kelly, Ward, Hopper, Coniglio etc going through there.

We got Jones and a pick which we turned into Butler for a second rounder, a future third rounder and a junk pick. To land a restricted free agent like Williams would cost a lot more

Not really a like for like comparison. Williams will cost nothing picks wise. Just a matter of salary cap room/how we value him.

Williams is a restricted free agent. Either we make an offer GWS can't match or we're in the same spot as Geelong with Dangerfield, where they blinked and made a trade. Either way, Jones took up less of the salary cap so was worth making the gamble on. If we're going to shell out, I don't think Williams is the player to do it for.

GWS's salary cap would be insanely tight. There's no way they'll be matching any offers for someone like Williams who would hypothetically leave for a bigger contract.

True that he'd cost more than Jones. I reckon he'd probably be worth it but happy to differ on that.
