I haven't seen as much of Hurley, so I'll cede to better judgement on that. I reckon Amber Clarke in space is just about the most exciting thing in the NAB League though. That it's even vaguely plausible for her to go fourth or late next year is a sign of just how absurd that draft is shaping up to be. With any luck, there'll be a few more who take the step up next year and throw their names into the mix as well.

Yeah Clarke's speed is insane, another highlight reel waiting to happen that I forgot really! Just hope that she comes back alright from the knee and she cans tart consistently taking groundballs with one grab.

I'm lucky enough to have seen Hurley play since she was 14/15 so maybe have some rose tinting to it, but just plays stoppages so well despite being a smaller midfielder, has good pace and is a great decision maker, could afford to tidy up her kicking but apart from that I reckon she's got few immediate weaknesses

There's a few that I'm expecting to really put their hands up next year as potential top picks; Charlotte Taylor, Lily Hart, Mia Busch are three that, if they aren't already, I expect will end up being seen with that top group, Duursma and Rose-Williamson as well from Gippy have a lot to like about them. The great thing is that a lot of these girls are already some of the better players in the comp, and the ones that aren't are pretty damn close. The one I expect to 'rise' the most if she chooses football is Grace Hay

Vacuous Space pretty much have similar thoughts about the game, I don't really remember Gee from the Queensland v Coorparoo game, so was shocked to see her standout so much. Think she'll be a Suns academy girl which is good, continues the trend of both clubs having at least one high end prospect

Lara Filocamo mentioned in the AFLW website's state league weekend wrap...

Admittedly haven't laid eyes on her in three years, but even with a seemingly underwhelming level of fitness and speed, she is the kind of player Freo needs during their first half stoppage siestas. Makes more sense than trying to turn Cain and Miller into something they're not, especially since they just gave Tiah Haynes another chance and it worked out ok.

Nah draft isn't till August.

Cheers for the feedback guys. Apparently, there will be a mega trade tomorrow and the final draft order will be finalised Wednesday. I'm currently building a Phantom Draft, far from done but well in progress. Feel free to criticize or comment once I've posted it. Last year I scored 45/61 draftees that went on to play AFLW including undrafted free agents. I'm hoping to do better this year.

One of the specific situations I was thinking of is Mikayla Pauga, Brisbane academy but currently based in Gold Coast due to uni and has to play for her Uni side in the QAFLW whilst she's studying, will she just nominate Gold Coast to make it easier I wonder?

Yes, well it turned out Tahau was from Cunnamulla Queensland and her mum lives at the Gold Coast. Players from all over Australia, come to compete in the SANFLW, which makes it annoying to pin down where they're actually from. Even I thought Tahau was heading to the Crows being an SA academy.
