His kicking isn't what I'd call polished so you might be right thereNah, more Cripps/Fyfe than Oliver.
Athletic monster.
Goater a better user and not as strong a contested winner imo than those two, more versatile too
Yeah that's fair, I could see Goater forging a career at either end or the midfield though, not as a target up forward thoughFyfe is fairly versatile..... it's just that he's a double brownlow medalist mid.
Could have quite easily been a multiple AA CHF imo.
Horne's ceiling is just too high to not like him given that he already has all the hard working defensive traits in his bag.

Sorry I know you didn’t mention me - BUT totally agree - I’ve been on here a while saying the same. I think people are too attached to Horne - personally I think Roberts will be the more complete player
God I hate equalisation. Having seen enough of Horne, I'm absolutely devastated we won that. What a dreadful feeling - being devastated your team won.
But unfortunately this is a competition that offers tangible rewards for poor performance that are linked to an increase in fortunes, and mediocrity is worse than being dreadful. Horne would have been what gave our rebuild the edge - fingers crossed we find an elite prospect out of the 'next' group - but none strike me as franchise mids.
Nothing says focused on the future like busting a gut to win a meaningless game that costs you in the long run
Now that I know for a fact that nicks hasn't been tanking with terrible selections I can safely say he's a garbage coach.
What sad miserable lives you must live. That goes for Wetcrow as well.
The 3 of you want dummies for your meltdowns? Maybe some tampons? Drama queens
I think Horne will go top 5. Should be a good player but his kicking isn't elite. I think he has been overrated by a few as a lay down messair pick 1. I'm not sure the crows would pick him at their pick if available. Junior footy form shouldn't be overvalued.Solid win by your boys tonight.
Looks like round 23 is going to be interesting for us especially. Both teams might not win another until then and Noble seems to really want to avoid the spoon like Nicks does. That said, I’m more along the lines as some of you in really wanting Horne.
You’ll take Roberts now I think and be very happy.

Question now is do we grab one of the gun Vic mids or reach a bit for Roberts who is probably slightly beneath these lads on reputation but will still be a super player.
I don't pay too much attention to his rankings, but in this instance he might be right.Who is he ‘beneath’?
ESPN’s (Knightmare’s) power rankings has him the best player after Horne/Daicos/Darcy, so in that view there is literally no Vic player on the open market rated ahead of him.
Whaaaaa......good chance we wont get either now.
A bit of a simpleton perspective.Nothing says focused on the future like busting a gut to win a meaningless game that costs you in the long run
Is Knightmare watching SANFL games this year?Who is he ‘beneath’?

Winning the Kreuzer Cup doesn't guarantee any future success.
The only thing that losing is a future indicator of is more losing.
I don't think that many take young Chris Doerre's predictions that seriously anymore. He doesn't watch an enormous number of games and doesn't have any access to other expert and industry opinions.Who is he ‘beneath’?

You mean - the most famous example in our sport? That’s a lot of certainty for an example you had to go back 14 years for
You mean - the most famous example in our sport?
Rebuilds are far more likely to lead to more rebuilds than they are premiership success.
You get success through a club's culture, not through tanking. If it was that linear and simple, every shitty team would go backwards for a few years and suddenly start succeeding. Most go backwards and stay backwards.
You can't succeed through tanking for picks, because the only difference between the draft picks given to the premier and the wooden spooner is ONE selection.
You succeed through changes in team culture and approach. Richmond were terrible for 35 years until that changed.
The facts are also many draft number 1 player if drafted 10 years later in the same draft woukd not be number 1Every club who has ever rebuilt, every single one, has prioritised development and the future over short term results at various points in time.
Trotting out tired & disingenuous cliches about “tanking” and “culture” won’t ever change this fact.
