Put the control down . There would be nothing we can offer that north woukd jump at.

Not exactly, there is certainly one player that'd make North jump (and likely be a straight swap). Unfortunately for us, that player is Thilthorpe. Cook, Butts and Schoenberg might as well in a package.

The thing is trading for pick 1 is doable, but likely the players needed to make it doable defeats the purpose of obtaining it.

One must also remember, that only so many midfielders can be taken as All Australian ......so what we're actually talking about is more a Clubs "Franchise" player from the Draft .....28% hit rate Huh

How often do top 10 picks turn into All-Australian calibre players?

When using a top 10 pick in the draft, the aim is obviously to bring in a player who will one day be a key part of the club and hopefully be an All-Australian level performer.

But just how often does a top 10 pick turn into an All-Australian calibre player? It’s probably not as often as you think.

Looking at a data sample from 2005 to 2015 - because players from 2016-2020 haven’t yet had enough time to make their mark ....of the 110 players taken in the top 10 in that time period, 31 have worn All-Australian blazers – a 28 per cent strike rate.

And of those 31, a combined 10 have come from either the 2005 or 2012 drafts.

This specific sample size also ignores those taken in the next bracket of the draft who went on to make the All-Australian side and isn’t necessarily reflective of the overall draft quality.

I don't know about the reserves but the A grade looks to be on channel 7 looking at the digital pass page
Late change to the 7 Plus program guide .....yes the SANFL GF is on ....happy boy here

This Fejo junior kid moves well Bicks , wouldn’t have him too far behind Wanganeen-Milera and ahead of Burgoyne comfortably

can’t see it in Hugh Jackson at all and I’m not rating Matt Roberts in the 1st round
Yeah I've been all over Fejo since a mate over there said I best go have a look at his highlight reel they'd just put up on youtube.

Thanks so much for that info I didn’t realise. He must be a boarder at PAC. Saw him a few times this year and your absolutely correct - keep that name in the back pocket.

Another one for you who will start U16 next season is Jacob Newton. He plays his football at Norwood originally from Elliston over on Eyre P. Boards at Rostrevor and already played 1sts this year as a year 9. Recently torn the U15 intras a new one.
Also won the Roosters U16's B & F last week.

Has Sam Walsh's younger brother (Henry?) done anything this season?

Been playing in the Geelong Football League for St, Joey's, did play a game for the Suns in the VFL Competition earlier this year I believe when he and some other GFL listed players were released by their clubs, former Ballarat Rebels Aiden Domic and Tylar Watts now playing in the GFL also played as call ups for the Suns and Swans I was told.

Swap Jones for our 1st next year and you may get them tempted, but probably still not enough.
Agreed

North would think, Adelaide could easily push up to say 10th next year. Crouch back, added Dawson, added Burgess, lots of young players who will improve.

North could easily end up with pick 6 this year (after academies etc) + pick 11 next year (assuming only 2 academy FS picks)

It would be a terrible deal and all it would need is for us to finish 10th

Assuming our talent ID projects JHF as the Martin Petracca level, then I’d make that trade in a heartbeat. But no chance NM accept it.

I think further compounding the problem of identifying potential AA from the drafts of 2020 and 2021, is the pandemic environment.

Fewer games have given recruiters less opportunities (not to mention border restrictions) to fine tune a top 10. Over the years, I have noticed phantom drafts change considerably from July to November.

I think we will find genuine sliders clearly outside the top 10 that will be elite stars of the AFL in the future.

Pick 4 + McAsey + C Jones for Norths Pick 1 and a some back end swaps to level out? or put the PlayStation controller down?

Mcasey and Jones are worth much more to us than they are to north. I wouldn’t do that trade.

What an absolute waste of draft picks and resources it would be to get rid of them now. Jones looks extremely promising at half back and McAsey is a very young and unfit KPP.

I think pick 4 and next year's first would be close.
Maybe if we can get our hands on pick 3 (Pick 4 plus Berg?) North will accept giving likelihood of GWS taking Mac Andrew at 2.
I don't think a team is moving one pick down in a draft to get Himmelberg

And I don't think there's a 'likelihood' of Andrew going at 2, yet

I’m happy just taking either Callaghan or Hobbs at 4. One of them should be there
Agreed.

I'm happy with that, and I'd be happy to move to 7 and 15 for 4 and next year's 2nd.

Moving up seems like a massive overspend - it values JHF as close to the most valuable player in the game.

Certainly not a bad results but high chance they aren't and if not them I'm trying to trade down to 7 and take what I can get without being to greedy.

You got 2 coaches in their final year of contract so I don't see GWS or GC taking a project player.

GWS has another 1st rounder plus Academy player for KPD.

While GC could take Gibcus but I think Hobbs impacts straight away and if I'm Dew I would take a chance on Skinner or mature age KPD and get best mid.
