Whats really disappointing is that we are genuinely a side that completely bottomed out. A lot of it our own doing (Burton etc etc). We are pretty much a sh*t show…

And even then our first pick could be pick 9… what the actual fu**.. this equalisation system is bullshit.
Yep I/m hearing you, but if our draft ended up like that, we would have done very very well and added some real talent to our list in areas of need

Yeah. For sure. But that is basically because I feel like 5 other clubs picked the wrong player. Or hoping. Roberts could go pick 3… what if he is gone.. it’s bullshit.. most of those teams below us shouldn’t be. It’s not their turn.

Again, yep I think the same thing and it is like a few years back when we had Carlton's 1st and melbourne tank...oops, I mean had a bad year to fall below us and then the AFL gave GC that shitful PP that cost us Noah Anderson in that draft. We certainly have been draft victims on plenty of occasions. This year, it will be a case of our playing group exceeding expectations and other clubs failing expectations. BUT..I would hate to have a loser mentality ingrained into the players and this year there seems to be a good number of highly rated mids. Just keep an eye on Mutineer as he posts info on guys most weeks who look like becoming good players and we will get a few of them for sure with our picks

Yeah, it sucks.

For as bad as we were last year Carlton are still Carlton, St Kilda are still the club they have always been and Gold Coast are still Gold Coast.

Anybody that has actually seen Ben Hobbs play live over his time at the Rebels wouldn't underrate him. ;)

I think it's going to be a big draft for the Rebels this year, Ben Hobbs, Josh Gibcus and Sam Butler certainties, Charlie Molan, Sam Breur, Kai Lohmann, Blake Scott, James Ballantyne and Josh Rentsch all in contention. Even 19 year old Fraser Maris might be a rough chance.
What kind of mid is Breuer Bicks ?

What kind of mid is Breuer Bicks ?
Was playing half back mostly until moving into the midfield the last couple of games where he's been a revelation, a real workhorse with neat skills around the 183 - 185cm and 80kg. Another Horsham lad.
Vic Country rep at U16's.
Will be interesting to watch his midfield development as the season goes on.

Maybe a bit of Touk Miller about him, defensive sided mid but is clean at stoppages and reads the ball of the ruck really well. A solid workhorse midfielder that every club needs.

I don't Port get another potential top line midfielder...
I couldn't care less about them..its the picks for us that I like - Roberts, Draper, Jackson and O'loughlin...and maybe Dudley in the RD...where do we sign

NORTH Adelaide midfielder Hugh Jackson is one garnering attention with his eye-catching stat lines and prolific ball winning ability. He has enjoyed a sensational start to the SANFL Under 18s season, averaging 35 disposals and six clearances per his nine games with great consistency in his output. The Rostrevor College graduate is fully focussed on his football in 2021, working hard on his contested game and becoming a more complete midfield package.

His Roosters came up against Sturt for a second week running in the junior grade, trumping the Double Blues to the tune of 38 points at Unley Oval. Jackson was again instrumental in the victory, gathering 41 disposals and 12 clearances to become the prospect placed under our SANFL Under 18s Player Focus microscope this week. We run you through his game quarter-by-quarter, and bring you the key stats out of his Round 9 showing.

I'm taking Dudley way before O'Loughlin.

I was speaking with my physio today who works for North Adelaide and he says the club has high wraps for O'loughlin but he did say he is about 60kg wringing wet..he is still very light framed
That doesn’t seem right, he has looked rather stocky to me and measured in at 171cm and 74kg in the pre-season

To be fair, my physio works primarily with the seniors and does not have much to do with the juniors day to day but he said he was still very slight..I suppose that could be taken as a figure of speech

So one more year before Rankine and Lukosius don’t re-sign and we use our picks to get them?

Would hope the club are in their ears and actively planning on scenarios that might eventuate re swapping picks for them…

Astute. Dudley mixing it well with the men at reserves level already. Tells me he can make the jump and get it working even with the 168cm height.

I’ve my doubts on O’Loughlin- he’s a nice player but would like to see him doing something other than running loose around the backline.

Whilst I would happily take the results of this list if it were to come to fruition, I have to admit, this list has some head scratchers, and I feel will look very different post champs. Rachele in the 2nd is the biggest outlier from the mock drafts i've seen, but also Roberts, Draper and Jackson all look conveniently low for us. The trio of WA's also seem higher then i've seen as well.

Yup, we're outperforming all expectations. That said, if we did end up with pick 9, it's off the back of rolling the 1st and 3rd team on the ladder. We haven't been that crash hot against teams below us at the moment.

We got pick 1 last year, and there is no guarantee we don't get stuck for a year or two at this point (or regress next year).

GC are we in a lot of trouble. They need decent experienced players. Ideally they trade out pick 3 for multiple first rounders, they then trade out those 2 firsts and their priority pick 19 for 2x or 3x ready made players.

Their salary cap is apparently bursting so it makes it hard to trade in guys worth first rounders. They might just go to the draft again.

Did Sonsie seriously injure himself on the weekend RE his knee?
I couldn't tell if it was Ankle, Shin or Knee when he did it, but he certainly did something that had him in a lot of pain. I expect we'll know more from Twomey today if there's any news, but I wouldn't be shocked if it's season over
