I like your commentary and you have good details. Could be more positive perhaps.
CCJ would go along way to solving our forward/ruck mess. He would improve our side immediately.
Coleman-Jones has been on an AFL list for 4 years, this was not a skinny undeveloped tall when drafted, Callum was 201cm and 99kg (2021 : 102kg) since then the Tigers have preferred Toby Nankervis, Rookie Maboir Chol, Noah Balta and I seem to recall 190cm Shaun Grigg rucking while CCJ was on their list. The Tigers recruited KPF Tom Lynch to play forward when they had CCJ on their list. Apart from being from SA that's about where he sits.

In reality he's not been rated at the Tigers and it's doubtful he's a whole lot better that Himmelberg when everything is taken into account, at best he's worth a late draft pick on what he's shown to date.

saw twomey talking about him. has him as best mid after horne. he also showed highlights.
Don't know how I could have missed him, I watch a lot of U18's footy and can't say I've come across this Gallagher fella and for Twomey to rate him that highly is amazing, must be a real smoky.

I wonder how many other players in this draft this fella has actually watched play?
No doubt Horne looks a very, very good prospect and absolutely looks one of the best in this draft but let's hark back to James Aish, SANFL League Premiership player as a 16 year old for the Redlegs, the following year a Premiership player for the Redlegs League team as a 17 year old, All Australian as an under-ager at the 2012 Nationals, an All Australian as a top ager at the 2013 Nationals.

Jimmy Toumpas played in a WWT League Premiership in his draft year, captained the SA team at the Nationals and an All Australian team member that same year.

I think some posters lose all sight of perspective when it comes to SA lads. I.E. Callum Coleman-Jones.
He was pretty good against us on the weekend.. but there were much better players than him out there for souths that day too.. i actually thought he was in and out of the game a bit but thats to be expected..

But the way some carry on about the lad you’d be forgiven for thinking he’s a shoe in for the Magarey Medal..

Yeah for mine, CCJ has an advantage over Fogarty right now, and is wayyy better than our other options bar Tex and TT

I’d be all for chasing him, but I don’t think we’ll get him. I do want to get another, more proven goal kicker just in case Fog doesn’t pan out, though

The problem there is we've just re-signed Fogarty so it's effectively dead money we're spending on him if CCJ plays ahead of him?

Yeah maybe we give Fog one more year at trying to cement himself, in that case?

If he can’t make more of a consistent around the ground impact after that though, I’d be going after another goal-kicking 2nd KPF after 2022

Either way if we're considering CCJ at the very least Himmelberg, Frampton (contracted) and probably Borlase have to be moved on?

Value the opinion.
Would you swap Berg with him as part of the deal? Doubt Richmond would. 😁

I'd prefer to go to the draft and draft another SA lad athletic KPF Cody Gilchrist with a later pick and look to the future.

I’d be looking to move two of the three on, anyway. Frampton is probably immovable (unfortunately) so I’d be looking to get a bit of value out of Himmelberg via trade (also contracted I believe) and, although harsh, delist Borlase

Need to clear a bit of deadwood, especially if (big if) list sizes are back to 38 and 6 this year

I'd actually like to see Murray persevered with up forward, unlike all of our Forwards he has a prodigious leap, strong aggressive contested mark and not frightened to split a pack open to bring the ball to ground.

Ah ok remember his name bobbing up here a few times, thanks!
I suppose it's not out of the realms of possibility he could still grow 4 or 5cms like Brayden Cook in his draft year but the last weights and measures I saw he was around 190cm and 80kg.

Yeah I like your thinking. I really like him as an attacking KPD to compliment Butts, but he has the traits to maybe become a genuine forward too
