Absolutely not, recruiters would have to have sh*t in their eyes to not see the talent, X factor and upside in Kai, I think he's genuine 2nd round round talent already and if you factor in upside and his athletic/xfactor he's someone that could be very special. I knew the first time I saw him play this year at C.T. Brown reserve in Wendourie this was a pretty unique footballer. His brother Jacob you may remember from a couple of years ago was a pretty fair footballer too and was on the cusp of the Vic Country squad but quite lightly built compared to Kai.
That’s a shame , sort of player we need

Getting creative:

ADE-RICH
Ade OUT: 4, 37
Ade IN: 7, 15, 26

Ade draft picks: 7, 15, 23, 26, 44, 62, 66

Richmond might be able to use pick 4 to swap with GWS for pick 2. Richmond get the midfielder they want (as has been suggested). GWS still get their pick of the talls. Adding pick 26 puts a premium on the top 4 pick. Richmond still have 28, 37 & 38 after as well.

ADE-WB
Ade OUT: 23, 44, 62, 66
Ade IN: 17

WB gain much needed points.

Ade draft picks: 7, 15, 17, 26

Trade pick 17 for Dawson (although they will try for 15).

Go to draft with 3 good picks - 7, 15 & 26.

Richmond might want Hobbs, but I don’t think they’d go so far as to do that deal

Maybe if they keep 26

Fejo Jr's disposal efficiency in his 2 SANFL League games was 96% and 91% in his 16 SANFL reserves games.

NWM 's SANFL League Disposal efficiency went at 57% in his 4 games and at 76% disposal efficiency in his 13 reserves games, and at 89% in his 4 U18's games. What does that tell us?
Yep no doubt a good prospect. Was just relating what the clubs think as reported by Twomey whose usually not too bad with these things.

I think also those figures line up with what we saw the other day about NWM winning 46% of his ball in the contest.

The SANFL DE stats are pretty unreliable. There's quite a few inside mids going around with 100% DE apparently.

Possibly but it's the same system for ALL SANFL players.

Champion data also do the AFL stats.

I'm not saying NWM isn't a very good prospect by the way, I'm merely pointing out as the SANFL levels went up from U18's to Reserves then League his disposal efficiency suffered, certainly a fair bit more than other U18's players for instance Matt Roberts and Arlo Draper by comparison with the added pressure and it doesn't get any easier at the next level.

That would depend on if the kid we want is available at 7... but from the sounds of things, I don't think Hamish thinks his kid will be available

I thought that, BUT if they want one of Hobbs/Callaghan, GWS will need a pick before pick 7 to ensure they get their player. Pick 4 still lets them get their preferred tall. That's why I put the premium on it.

Would love to know where that's sourced from, given that the overall disposal efficiency for SANFL clubs ranged between 73-79%, which would include all of the typically higher DE% defenders chipping it around in the backline.

Champion Data do the stats for both the AFL and SANFL.

FWIW I'd be taking Hobbs 2021 over Caddy 2010 any day, far more complete midfielder and better at the midfield stuff. And still not afraid of the scoreboard. He's one of the safest picks in the draft. Taylor Adams/Selwood style footballer, not flashy, not super fast but none tougher.

And none more dedicated to be being the best he can be.

And DE% forms an integral part of those stats - hence I'd be very surprised if those figures weren't reliable.
I guess it all comes down to the competency of each individual game day statistician but you would think it would level out across a full season for each player regardless

Hobbs has Nicks favourite written all over him but we're left with the same problem in we have no point of difference in the midfield. It's why a Callaghan or Goater would be higher on our 'want' list

I've seen & heard enough of the CD guys in action to know the guys calling the games are pretty well on top of things.

By the same token I'm more comfortable with a lad from the bush/Horsham than a lad from the affluent Melbourne beachside suburb of Parkdale with close family ties to a current AFL coach re retention? :)

Having Hobbs, Berry, Pedlar winning the hard ball would give us that mongrel we really need going ahead, you need your clearance beasts and Pedlar is certainly capable on the outside as well.

Agreed, I certainly wouldn't be unhappy with Hobbs will be a great player, just unfortunate we can't get that point of difference

Hobbs has less go home factor appeal. Hopefully next year can add rankine outside pace.
