Surely the state of the list dictates what strategy you proceed with.

Melbourne wants to be good now and will potentially give up some value to get things now.

We're playing a longer game, but might look to adopt a similar strategy to them when our list is in a similar shape.

I'll give you doubts on McAsey and Hately, though we didn't draft Hately and paid nothing to get him.

Milera is a doubt because of his injuries, not his ability. The rest have shown enough, and Pedlar will too

Its sounds like the Crows had the opportunity to land pick 17 from the Bulldogs. We ended up with Melbourne's Future 1st. Why did we rate the Melbourne Future 1st higher than this years Pick 17?

The future first could be anything from maybe pick 8 to pick 18.

Pick 17 will always only be pick 17.

because next year is a better draft, but most of all there is upside and 0 downside risk on the Melbourne pick. It can only get better

We could consider chucking all those picks Someone we already know is a gun, ie Walsh. It's a hefty offer into the unknown for JHF. Now of course Walsh probably won't want to come but there could be someone under 22 who is already elite and might be nudged or way.

That’s a third of the list. Actually had responded to the wrong post on same issue - where second rounders were listed as well. ROC, Rowe and Worrell all have significant doubts as well

Got many thoughts on the Vic midfield crop at this point? From a league-wide perspective Wardlaw, Tsatas and Hollands sound like the ones to watch out for, can’t say I know too much about them at all at this point but Tsatas’ profile in particular excites me

Clubs got to see 9-10 games this year though ....that's a fair sample size

Plus 1 x Vc Metro v Country game .....and an Academy game against the VFL GEEL (men) ...which is a really good guide IMO
