What have they acheived in the last 15 years that we (or any club) would be jealous of?

Had always wondered if being linked to Geelong has helped Hinkley avoid scrutiny. I mean, I think he's had almost a decade in charge with little to show for it and yet hasn't copped anywhere the same amount of flack.

Ken basically confirmed it claiming they’re a largely young team and still building up. They have some good young talent no doubt, but they rely very heavily on players that won’t be covered, never mind improved by the youth coming through. To me they are heading into the mid table merry go round.

Port Power are missing the 25 years old age group on their list because Hinkley gave 1st rounders for Dixon and Ryder in consecutive years and have continue to trade in "need" players instead of developing the draftee, he will eventually "retire" end of next year and stuffed their list for the next new coach.

As a Port Magpies supporter, my dislike of the power has always been about using Maggies heritage to somehow make their AFL club more authentic. The est. 1870, the prison bars, the constant Ebert remarks. I’ve come to resent those fake claims. But I guess you gotta dislike someone and Collingwood was already taken.

Serious answer. We’ve lost many a prelim final. We’ve risen to top spot numerous times. In the cycle of 10 years, there is no real difference between the two clubs and therefore nothing to be jealous about and nothing really to compare. Actually I’ll go as far as

The great thing about last night - it was the king of all chokes.

We have been competitive, some memorable for all the wrong reasons (1993 and 2006), in every single one of our Preliminary Finals with most of them played away from home (Away - 1993, 1997, 1998, 2002, 2005, 2012 Home - 2006, 2017).

We’ve been in that mid table cycle for most of the last 20 years and won nothing. We have clearly made the decision to throw our squad in the bin and do a full rebuild via the pointy end of the draft. Fingers crossed, we will see the fruits of that in the near future. I think we are more likely to succeed than Port are by adding mid to late picks to a pretty average group of young players.

Tambling was pick 4, we are not that bad with record losing margin of 119 and 71 which will never be beaten and have double their premiership.
