Key Off-Season Dates
This is a comprehensive list including dates for draft combines, list lodgements, delisted free agency windows and return to train dates. I had to collate these from three different club websites because the AFL is lazy af and doesn't have it on their website, so thought it might be helpful to share:

FAQs & Resources Thread

It has an index at the top with threadmarks so it's easy to find what you're looking for – or easier than scrolling through 250 pages of AFL Rules, Regulations and CBA pdfs anyway.

These sorts of questions are all answered along with a bunch of other resources made by posters from across BigFooty (feel free to add to it!):

I’m just not a fan of these long deals, they are great for players and player managers but often end up horrible for clubs.

He’s a classy player and has been good this year but 8 years is absurd. I think 5 years, 6 max would have been ample reward and could also have been smoothed over. I hope I’m wrong but I can see this ending poorly.

Fair enough.

With our luck I see your point.

Would be a bad move to let Riccardi walk I think.

If Hogan's body doesn't hold up then HH is basically the only KPF on the books (unless you include Sproule/Briggs).
It all depends on what it takes to keep him.

If someone is prepared to pay him good money, I don't think we can/should match.

I dont want to read too much into 1 game, but he was a mile off it on Friday and it is clear while they have preferred others previously.

Yeah I cant see why a team would chase him.. he is clearly a development player. He can catch and kick... but forwards need to be able to run chase and turn nowdays

Personally I cant see us wanting him to go. I understand he want more opportunity but IMO he is a risk for other clubs out there.

PS did anyone see the north board has already turned their sights to Taylor 2022? They are hopeless

Taylor? [emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787]

So what’s their link to him? A second cousin? He is a sandgroper.

He was on a radio last night saying how happy he was in Sydney.

I think that's the point.

And the Giants will have put two years development into him by the end of 2021.

He has a contract in front of him from us and hasn't signed it. No way should we be getting into a bidding war for a VFL level player. He either takes what's been offered by us or leave. If he wants an AFL career he should look at our player development success as opposed to the likes of Carlton.

Am I alone in wanting a genuine pressure forward? I think our best 22 lacks a genuine pressure sort, Daniels is close but not consistent with it and seems destined for more runs through the guts as a different sort (speedy and can actually kick)

Depends if you think Bobby Hill is that... I think when fit that Bobby and Daniels should play in the same team. I don't think we have room for another unless they are more a half forward role that can push up the ground or on a wing.

I suggested Rioli as an option... but he is now playing at half back.

I'm, not overly high on Hills' pressure work, although he could come back and shock me, certainly has the speed to be that sort so would be good to see it turned on

Well then you are effectively saying you want to bring in an upgrade on hill. Cos that would be his role when fit.

Would you draft this or would you look to the league?
