Seen someone on Twitter say Cripps has signed a 4 year deal on $850k not sure where this coming from, but if true is a great result. Still makes him very well paid but should allow us to sign H without too much trouble.
Sounds reasonable, and you'd imagine incentives would get it pretty close to the magical million mark.

Let’s just hope Lloyd and Baldy haven’t ****ed our cap up.

Richmonds midfield is ageing so bringing in a young talent like Dow is a worthwhile gamble
I think Richmond has enough young midfielders that are in development stage but understandably oppositions supporters would not have heard of them
RCD,Martyn,Ross,Cumberland,Dow,Ralphsmith,Naish we would be needing replacements for Astbury/Riewoldt more i'd think
P.Dow is also contracted and carlton would want to keep him due to his value dropping significantly and Blues also needing inside mids.
Think he should come good but just taking a bit longer

Sounds like Charlie isn’t far away.. how does our fwd line look with him there??

Martin. Curnow.. Fisher
JSOS..McKay.. Owies/Betts

what do we do with McGovern and Murphy? Do we still need Levi for ruck back up?

They won't, afl reserves priority draft picks and other special favours for their sponsored favourites: GC, GWS, Brisbane, Sydney. North are viewed same as Carlton - on their own no matter what.

I guarantee that North won’t get the “slops-priority-list-SANFL/WAFL/VFL-player” type priority pick that we got 2 years ago.

I reckon we are going to break even with Cripps contract value coming down and Harry's going through the roof this year , hope we can safely get Walsh locked away on a 7 yr deal next year , might have to lose one of these overpaid recruits at some stage . Cough cough McGovern .

With the unusually high injury toll across the AFL and the increased physical demand of the game this year due to cut rotations and man on the mark rule - will the AFL revert list sizes back to 44 main list & 3 cat b rookies?

I think there is real merit given matchday squads are now 23 players, the rules around concussion layoffs and also the financial aspect of crowds back at games.

Although I feel the AFL will likely keep the current list sizes as we aren't quite getting the crowd numbers of old and there is still some volatility around COVID, which is a risk. More players also means more coaches, and hopefully the soft cap is increased this off-season too.

I would still love to see 44 main list players with additional cat b rookies. I love the symmetry of 44 main list - 22 in the ones, 22 in the twos.

What do we think the likelihood of this is?

Great changes to the game but wrong list management changes. Typical AFL, if they do something right, they flower it up with another change.........they really are that dumb. Let’s hope they don’t revert back the wrong change(s) ...... watch the quarters be shortened.
