I heard that as well not sure if it was trueGeez how you have backtracked.
Weren't you the one that stated Teague coached the first half of that game, then Bolton took over?
And now we are still experiencing those massive run ons

How long does McGovern have left on his contract?
I just saw someone say 2 years.... I bloody hope not

I like your thinking, but then what happens with JSOS/Gov? Even the addition of just one of them into your forward 7, would make us too tall and too slow.Realise this will probably get shut down...
But a major positive, I noticed for the first time on Sunday...
Was TDK as a forward, starting to think we should target another good ruckman
and leave TDK more permanent forward with spurts in the ruck, or even not at all..
HF: ...... - TDK - ......
FF: ...... - McKay - Curnow
I worry about where Setters and Dow are going to play for 40% of their game time when they aren’t in the midfield. It’s the combinations that’s the problem too. Stoker, Dow, Setters and Cripps aren’t good runners. Ideally you want two good runners in there for the majority of the time. We have Walsh in that group and that is it. It could possibly work but I think it would rule someone like SPS out of playing off HF because we would need players with great running capacity to cover for the midfields lack off running capability. It's clear to me that the way we manage our midfield and the players going through there, is way too dimensional. I've tried to work out a system bellow in which we can maximise that talent on our list... (note: For this exercise, Ed Curnow would be playing on a wing)
Let's assume that the average AFL midfielder spends anywhere between 70-90% time on ground - we'll use 80% as an average.
In my opinion, Cripps should be spending about 3/4 of that 80% of time (works out to 60%) in our stoppages and going through the midfield. The remaining 1/4 of his TOG should be used up forward.
I then repeated that same process with a few others, so it could all add up to a realistic value:
Walsh to spend 85% of his TOG in the midfield, 15% on a wing (80% x 0.85) = 70% of overall game time in the midfield/centre bounces/stoppages.
Stocker - 80% x 0.65 = 50% overall game time in midfield
Setters - 80% x 0.60 = 47.5%
Dow - 80% x 0.60 = 47.5%
Fisher - 80% x 0.40 = 25%
~ I know it must be confusing for some so far, but we're almost there ~
Using the value of 300% as the number of 100% multiplied by our 3 on-ballers at any time, you can see all the numbers above actually add up perfectly to that magic figure.
60 + 70 + 50 + 47.5 + 47.5 + 35 = 300%
So what does this all mean? Well it proves that in an ideal world we can get all the names above, all sharing reasonable midfield minutes.
~ Walsh would be our main on-baller, with Cripps not far behind.
~ Stocker will spend most of his game in the guts, resting in defence and allowing Doc/Saad to rotate onto a wing.
~ Dow and Setters will also be playing mainly midfield, occasionally running through a wing or pinch hitting up forward.
~ Fisher will start off a HFF, but will spend some game time up the ground when Walsh/Cripps are off for a spell.
So COME ON TEAGUEY, give us a bit of variety with our midfield mix!

I also doubt we'd be trading in another ruck who is better than TDK - keep the king as our no. 1 ruck. Coaches need to work around a long term plan that doesn't involve Pitto or Levi. Bite the bullet and play one of Setters/JSOS/Gov as an undersized 2nd ruck, Shaun Grigg or Marlion Pickett style.
TDK needs to start taking some pack marks first. Drops to many at this stage IMORealise this will probably get shut down...

Would be a dynamite forward line that would give defenders nightmares, then add some classy defensive smalls![]()

I can see him being a much better player down back than up forward, he is the perfect replacement for Jones, athletic tall defenders are worth their weight in gold like J.Howe, remember when he was shot.. then moved to def at Collingwood and never looked back.Jones is getting on, Marchy never gets out there, Parks a kid but promising - Gov will be in the mix as a tall back if he stays around in those 2 years. He could be very handy.
Kruzer teaching him how to mark , now that’s funny !! Contested mark kruzer was awful and worse technique I have ever seen on.a ruckman typeYeah his hands are very hard but he's proven in the past that they can stick. I think that's a real emphasis for TDK in the off season is keep working on his forward craft and in particular his contested marking. The Sydney game showed that he gets himself into the right position but just needs softer hands to hold onto his marks. Hopefully guys like Kreuzer and even Harry can continue to be really strong educators and mentors for him.
I'm afraid so, 2023, Mcgov wanted 5 years to come across to us.
Hopefully the big wage was front-loaded and he isn't still on $700,000+.
Horrible, horrible trade.
McAdam kicked 4 goals less than Mcgov at the moment and he'd be on peanuts.![]()

Then that means we need a proper KPF/ruck to give TDK a chop out. Either that, or Pitto is our 3rd tall up forward. That also then means that we won't be able to include both either JSOS or Gov in our front 7 (assuming Harry, Charlie and TDK/Pitto are already playing).Like that's worked well for the Tigers against the better sides
The Grigg type ruckmen are a thing of the past, the 6 6 6 rule ended that strategy
That would be $4m all up over 5 years. Though he's hardly played so it would be less than $3.5 I reckon due to lack of match payments and performance bonuses. The post I saw suggested 2 more years worth around $4million... I am hoping that isn't back ended as $2m a year. I'd literally throw up.

Does that mean Gov plays as a 3rd tall in our backline?I would be looking for another TDK type, with Harry and Charlie
Fill in the rest of the other 4 forwards and or resting mids
probably even less than that I reckon, maybe 3-3.25That would be $4m all up over 5 years. Though he's hardly played so it would be less than $3.5 I reckon due to lack of match payments and performance bonuses.

I thought he looked quite good in the few games which he played this year up forward - was averaging about 1.3 goals and 2.7 tackles per game.
Maybeprobably even less than that I reckon, maybe 3-3.25
Tigers are still playing Pickett in the ruck this year to limited success.Like that's worked well for the Tigers against the better sides

Why he dropped tho?Narkle dropped again. For the love of God please chase him at the end of the year. Perfect age bracket. Wouldn't cost much either.
